Like Beemer I have really not used my 20 round mags much. Yes I know about opening up the bottom of the bolt, and I could have done it. Mostly I just learned to appreciate it the way it was made. Mine sits in the basement across the arms...

I am quickly turning into a big fan of the lowly .32SW Long cartridge. Brass is not expensive, thrifty on lead and powder, easy to load, fun to shoot. I found a pair of speed loaders for my little H&R 733 nickle and 732 blued revolvers. ...

I'm with Mary. I don't think I have ever cleaned mine yet. Oiled a few parts, pull a dry patch through the bore to remove loose powder carbon and that is it. Like her I had one mag that was iffy, and 5 minutes of comparing it to the ones that...

I like half Clip on Wheel weights, half soft lead range scrap, water pipe, roof flashing, and 1% tin/pewter. Works for everything I do but I don't try to break the 2k speed mark.

I'd love to have one but pretty rich for my blood. Even the single sixes in .32H&R Mag seem to sell for more than I'd like to spend. I thought ruger made guns the average guy could afford. What happened to that?

I know this is old, but with a small load of quick powder, in a single shot ( no 1) wouldn't it be ok, and maybe better, to use a dowel or something andpress the boolit/ round ball down, maybe almost to the powder... I was thinking this would give...

Yes I did, and bought it for 200$ cash, sight unseen. Guy offered, I accepted, paid him the 200$ cash, next time I went to the range the gun was there waiting for me. And I sold it for 250$ which did not cover the cost of the Red Dot sight I...

I grew up in the Red River Valley of Northern Minnesota and North Dakota. At the time the pioneers moved into this country there were NO trees except once in 30 - 40 sections of land you'd see a single big cottonwood tree. Except in the...

Three times I almost jumped into this mess, 3 times I walked away. I guess I have 2 things to say. A I started out with 13 grains in my 7.62x54r, and its ok, but it shoots better at 10 grains. B Unreasonable expectations. They'll kill ya. ...

Do me a favor, try one of those molds again, don't run it quite so hot, preheat your mold. And however long you are waiting before you crack the sprue, try twice as long. Me I like to watch the metal change from liquid to solid, then count to...

I guess I like the shorter stock. I have a couple of the Tapco duckbill 20 round mags but once I found some stripper clips I much prefer the standard 10 round mag. It would not be hard to make that magazine removable from the bottom, at least on...

GhostHawk replied to a thread Surplus Ammo in Military Rifles
I'm pretty much agreeing with Outpost75. I happened to run into a pretty good deal on some PPU Match ammo, figured the cost of the brass and subtracted it from the cost per round. It was down to some figure like 12 cents, seemed like a bargain,...

I agree with wbrco. Red dot seems to be about as easy to fire as anything. I've certainly seen no issues with it. Question, how were these primers stored that they have become degraded?

Dirtyjack I started with the .40sw Hipoint carbine. The Wife shot it, loved it, loved the red dot sight. So simple, so intuitive, so quick on target. But she wanted one that did not "bump her shoulder so hard" They make one like that she asked? ...

I'm with JonB, pick your poison, Ben's Liquid Lube, 45/45/10 or something you invent. It should pour like coke. You don't need much, we are talking drops here for 100 bullets. More drops of course for bigger caliber, heavier boolits. Fewer for...

I start with a Frankford Arsenal hand deprimer. This IMO is a nice solid piece of kit that lets me deprime upstairs in front of the TV. From there brass goes to kitchen where it gets a Citric acid wash and half hour soak. Followed by a...
