Basically the same story ... I found a set of the dedicated RCBS .45 ACP shotshell dies cheap at a gun show years ago and couldn't resist buying them. I made up some cases from .308 brass, but found it faster and easier to use .45 Magnum (Wildey)...

Today I ran 500 rounds of previously formed .300 BO brass back over my tapered neck expander plug and now I have to adjust my FL sizer die to set the shoulders to the correct position. I made a numbskull mistake and loaded up 500 rounds of ammo...

Years ago when I was working in the sporting goods trade I drove out to Edmonton with a friend for our annual gopher "safari" and we stopped in to see a vendor of ours that sold lead shot at the time so that we could buy some product to take back...

It'll be interesting to see what you find when you slug the bore on your vintage .38-55. I had a '94 round barrel rifle mfg in 1899 and when slugged it measured out with a .384" groove! I had a Lyman mould at the time that dropped bullets at .379"...

I have a full military 71/84 repeater and a slightly sporterized model 71 single shot and they are both fun to shoot. My 71/84 shoots well with SR4759 although about a foot high to the sights. Another "back burner" project I have to get around to...

A friend of mine was selling some stuff from an estate and so I bought 2 sets of used dies and a full pound of IMR3031 all for $30. Wish I could find powder at that sort of pricing more often!

Emptied the tumbler and put the .45-70 brass in to the dehydrator to dry. Ran a few hundred 9mm's through the 550 Dillon. Now I'm heading back upstairs to check on the turkey for family dinner tonight ...

Sorted out a bunch more of my cleaned brass and separated it all by headstamps. Set up my small primer Dillon 550 for 9mm and ran a few test rounds. (And in the process spilled a freshly filled tube of 100 small pistol primers.) Put a batch of...

Not the last gun I bought, but I was finally doing some shooting today with a rifle that I bought quite a while ago. It's one of the Israeli 98 Mausers in 7.62 Nato / .308 Winchester that were being sold on the surplus market a few years ago. Mine...

Well, I did it to myself again ... I just bought a Nicaraguan issued Remington Rolling Block in 7x57 Mauser. (I've wanted a 7x57 Roller for a while now so I just couldn't resist.) With any luck it should be in the mail to me right now!

Same here when I had my .375 Winchester 94 Big Bore ... I annealed the .30-30 necks first, then used salvaged large rifle primers with about 6 to 7 grains of fast pistol or shotgun powder, push a 1/4 sheet of toilet tissue over the powder charge,...

Anyone who's had a dog understands the depth of your pain right now. We grow so close to our dogs that when they go it's like losing a child. My "Jake" has been gone about 3 years now and I still miss him every day. Bad knees and a bad back keep...

I have an old 1894 SRC in .25-35 and have a couple of hoarded boxes of Hornady 117 grain round nose bullets which I load for it. (Mostly using IMR 3031 from memory.) Great shooting little rifle, it's very accurate and with very light recoil. ...

I loaded some powder coated Lee 405 hollow based .45-70's over 22.5 grains of my remaining, hoarded SR-4759 to test in my 1878 dated Trapdoor Springfield. PC'ing them brought them up to .461 / 462" which is a better fit in my old, large bored...
