Jamming a fired case into a FL sizer as far as we can make it go is a good idea ONLY if we're making ammo that will be as swapped around as factory stuff. One of the most significant advantages we handloaders have (but often overlook) is that we...

Liberty Tree, eBay, I'd try polishing the lifter surface first. You could compare it to your old one, and see if they have the same profile. https://www.libertytreecollectors.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=2107&idcategory=40 Sent...

Ditto. I can understand that some folk really appreciate the fine surface machining of Redding, Forster, etc., tools. What I've never understood is those dummies who (LOUDLY!) proclaim Lee's tools to be "junk"! As you observe, Lee's tools work...

ALL crimpers work best when the case lengths are the same. Lee's FCD collet crimpers (rifle) are easily the least affected by modest case length differences; I wouldn't have any others. (Ditto Lee's collet type neck sizers.)

Those pullers that look the same are the same. What varies from time to time is the "alloy" of the plastic so some are more or less breakable than others of the same brand. That said, the most robust inertia pullers I've tried are made by...

We really can't discount obturation Bazoo, it happens. When big, heavy bullets like your's are seated over near max charges they WILL obturate and do so quite well. And when a bullet enters the barrel the bullet will be exactly what the barrel...

What you drop is obviously not what it's marked for so you have a right to be "confused". Only way that could happen is for the mold to be mismarked when it was made. That bullet should work great for a .303 British.

Few of us can afford a mike that can read 1/10,000 of an inch and our common SAAMI specified chambers wouldn't see any difference to 1/1,000 inch - or more - anyway. ??? Don't know how many cases a Forster carbide cutter can do before...

I've come to love my old Forster (hand held) neck turner. It's simple enough to adjust and their carbide cutter with a small cut-out for case shoulders make it work very well.

Contrary to popular "wisdom", a mirror polished sizer wall or expander button does NOT make it easier to use. What's needed is a tad of lubricant between the brass and steel and a matt surface holds sizing lube much better than a slick surface. ...

You're custom fitting cases for your own use, not everyone else's so forget head spacing off the rim; ALL reloaded bottleneck ammo can (and should be) FL sized to headspace off the shoulder. Fit matters and only that insures the round actually fits...

Ditto. Don't know how the web guru practice of "fire forming" with a reduced load got started but it's obviously wrong. Pulling a trigger on a light load is for sure "fired" but the case is by no means "formed"; that demands a full power load. ...

I suppose if you sized it down to 20 caliber, and swaged(with proper bullet swaging dies) that back up to 0.223" it would work. That would be and awful lot of work. Sent from my VS880 using Tapatalk
