    when you guys are done saying what is best for long term storage; do this. get a old gun bbl; piece of old steel ect. clean it down to bare metal, clean it with acetone. now apply what you think is good (use several products) masking off 1-2 in....

    the better guns have coarse "wood screws " in the buttstock. in the forend machine screws and a nut (usually round and inletted into the wood). they don't work loose if installed properly.

    the hole in the end is too big for a mod. 12. but, as said the checkering screams winchester; possibly mod 50 because that size hole is common on most auto's. always wanted a mod. 50 trap.
