Ok I missed that they are powder coated, try heat treating them. It seems strange that only one out of every five does it though, but with mine as a lube problem it was the 5th shot always not random.

I am going to say it's your lube at that speed. I had something very similar going on with my home brewed lube and the 7.62x54r, multiple groups on same target, 5th shot out every single time. I tried adding ATF helped, then paraffin and fliers went...

Interesting colored wood, I can see a bit of striping in the butt. Looks as if stock has been refinished though? The one pictured on the Wiki link is just fantastic, tiger striped stem to stern!

You could try some 5-7 shot groups, maybe even more rounds would give a better picture. I see a typo in your data though you forgot the C in BL-C (2) or lot# 2 however your canister is marked. Have fun and enjoy, even if you are using those danged...

That is one strange looking piece of brass! I made a belted rimless rifle cartridge casing a couple of times, not on purpose though. Glad the casing didn't let go and nothing/nobody got hurt.

Trust me, I am no stranger to the “old gas wrench”. What I get is quick chilled steel (hardened) and having to dig out a die grinder and run a carbide bur to make the to hole more “holy”. I never get what I really want, just a get by. When I...

Reamers breaking like that makes me wonder about how they were manufactured or abused in their former lives. Besides the reamers I have bought (1/2” and 5/8”) my father has acquired perhaps a half dozen large ones with Morse taper drive. I think...

I think I shaved a few ounces off by changing out scopes, the Burris seems lighter than the Bushnell. The weight doesn't really bother too much unless gaining elevation, going from 3500 to 6500 every ounce counts, setting in the safe none of my...

I gave Remington the ax several years back, I kept a Black Diamond Nylon 66 and my my Model 11 26" ImpCyl barreled 12 ga. I just didn't trust them in the safe with my other rifles, bad influence you know!

New paint nutmeg with black webbing and 2 coats of clear matte. While I was at it I bought a Burris Fullfield II Ballistic Plex scope and a set of Leupold rings. Now all I have to do is get out and sight it in!

I remember these and Ranger Rick, pretty sure someone at Accurate Reloading Forum was shooting these out of the Lott at 1900 fps, seems like H335 or AA 2230 powder was used.

Everyone has some kind of vice or hobby. For me as a fourth generation rancher who loves firearms handloading made sense. Predators want to eat our livestock. They require above average ammunition to kill them. Handloading provides that along...

A bolt gun in 223? Oh yes!! All the jazz surrounding the 223 cartridge seems to involve 223 and an AR. Now most of that is deserved, a bolt gun in 223 is also just grand! My two are the handsome little CZ 527 American and the Ruger...

The drill I mentioned from HF is a geared 1/2” electric hand drill running 550 rpm no load. It is cheap but I have done a lot with one at our farm shop. I run a 5/8” car reamer easily with it in steel thicker than the OP has a need for. I have...

A fluted tapered reamer and a 1/2” electric drill geared for 500 rpm (Harbor Frieght for the drill would suffice). If you don’t mind a bit of taper on the 5/8” hole a 3/4” reamer might cover both hole sizes you desire. The tip of the tapered...
