I read an article by Mike Venturino in the current GUNS magazine, article is on 1873 Winchesters. He says the 45 Colt brass made today is too thick/hard to seal properly with low pressure loads appropriate to the '73 and you get some gas blowback. ...

A few pics. I haven't shot mine a lot yet, I'm still kinda researching what are safe loads for the 1873 action. Believe it or not Lil Gun makes the most velocity at the lowest pressure in 357 Mag loads. I love this little rifle, wouldn't change...

I’ll post some pics when I get to a real computer. I have a Winchester/Miroku 1873 Trapper in 357 Magnum. It is a beautiful gun, and no safeties.

I’ve got a John Ross PC 500 and have never shot a full power load in it, there are some light loads listed here. http://www.reloadammo.com/500sw.htm And you can get load data directly from the Hodgdon website. If you find any Trail Boss, grab...

They are fine rifles. Since you’re in Kansas, there’s a chance I sold it when it was new. I sold a pile of them when I worked for Rusty’s in Wichita.

The guide gun version of the 444 was the 444P, and had 1:20 twist barrels. Glad to hear Remington is bringing back the 444.

My Browning B92 has aggravated me to no end. The bore is oversize, and it has the ridiculous 1:38 twist. I also have a B92 in 357 that will shoot rings around the 44. I've had half a dozen Marlins in 44 Magnum, not satisfied with any of them. ...
