    if you are hesitant but it doesn't sound like u really want to pull you can always load some lighter and work your way up. Just remember though while it is a pain to pull it is much more painful to find out the hard way you should have.

    I buy hornady 55 grain 223 for rifle but for pistol I don't bother to weigh individual boolits. I do however weigh the whole batch after a casting session, it gives me a sense of accomplishment

    I usually just use a flat headed screwdriver or old knife. For larger globs that somehow make their way to the floor when making ingots I pinch them with a pair of pliers and they pull right up

    I cast a couple hundreds of pure in a 5 quart dutch oven which took a while. I have a propane tank that I'm going to cut once I have more range scrap and think that should be much faster.

    I have shot a lot of hi-tek bullets in 9 and mine did have a smell especially when shooting fast. They smelled like burnt plastic but it wasn't too bad. I did have a couple RO's question what I was shooting though

    My thought is everything has a health risk, I just bake them outside, preferably on a windy day and don't worry much about it. I do the asbb method though so much less dust than spraying.

    That is a nice find.That is one thing that has helped me find lead to.Ask or tell everyone you know you are looking for lead.Lead can come from places and people you never dreamed of.Now you need to get to work lol.

    Great Find.+1 on cheching id your scrap yard will take the jackets.the 2 i deal with the most will not.still lookin for place that will.Happy smelting.nothing like to sound of the burner smelting all the great lead!!!!

    I still find ww here but the % of good lead has gone down in the last 6 or 7 Years.I would say i use to get about 80% now arounf 60 to 75 % on the last bucket.I find alot more SOWW then i use to.I have always hit the scrap yards that will sell and...

    Yes scrap yards with no XRF.I dont know of one that has one in my area.This can be good and bad.Good when they get something with alot of SN and SB in it and they do not be better and seel it for the same price.bad for us being we dont know for sure...
