I shoot my AR9 with all cast bullets. It has a nitrate treated barrel. I have no issues whatsoever. I run a 135gr powder coated at 1350fps. I run plain lubed at 1200fps out of it when get into my stash of rounds that were loaded before I powder...

I just got done explaining this fitment into the throats in triplebeard's thread, yes you get the best accuracy when the bearing surfaces/sides/front driving band of the boolit is centered by the throat. However... Don't assign the priority to...

There is a LOT of physics involved with this caliber, and this thread. There are a few hard limitations that one must work within to develop loads that work. Here are some of the more important ones: Heavy boolits: You CANNOT make magnum...

Use WATER first then clean as regular. Water is what neutralizes a corrosive compound.

With that lite of bullet, you are changing the burn rate of the powder. Without the resistance of a heavier bullet the powder will act like a even slower powder. That might increase the port pressure causing a accelerated bolt speed over what it...

If you have to use a H2 or any other buffer you are over gassed. Put a adjustable gas block oy key on it to fix it. You can add different weights to the buffer you have to help slow down the buffer also. Or buy a heavier spring.

Prayers and condolences for your family and friends. I had spoken with him a time or two some years back, bought some of the Ranch Dog collet crimp overruns that he sold. Good guy yes indeed..

The 44-40 is somewhat of an anomaly in itself. Not because the barrel might be an odd size to call it a 44, but the bottleneck diameter pretty much dictates what the max diameter boolit you can use. Let's say I run a gage pin in your cylinder and...

You will gain even more accuracy if you do not "jam" the boolits against the chamfer, but hone the throats to a diameter sufficiently greater than the groove diameter, THEN size the boolits and load them long so that they seat fully inside the...

I am not stating that the SAAMI chamber is the best for accuracy or even that is what CZ is using. Thats why I recommend a chamber cast. I am using the SAAMI chamber since it an easy too locate print of a 9mm chamber that does show what the actual...

This is hearsay, so fwiw, I heard that Jerry Keefer puts .100" of freebore and a 1 degree leade in the barrel of the 9mm that keeps on winning the matches. I also looked over the SAAMI chamber spec and maybe I saw it wrong, but it looked to me...

As to who case hardness barrels any of the barrels that are Melonite treated are case hardened. This is getting to be fairly common in both pistols and rifles. Same for Titanium Nitride surface coating that CZ is using on these. That is the same...

It will be fine as long as it chambers. Feed on the AR15 is hit and miss. Trim length and OAL are very important. I shot about 400 rounds through my AR in 350. There is no lead buildup anywhere. I powder coated just about all the bullets I shot...

^^^^ Only an :killingpc beats on a lathe chuck with a hammer! If OP follows your advice he'd be just as well off with a Craftsman 3/8" drill and a 3/8" chinese made drill bit.
