Mold Maker, how much snow did you get ? In northern Alexander Co. we have 6-7 inches. It is the stickiest snow I have ever seen, all the trees are loaded and the power lines look as big as your wrist. The gravel road I live on looks passable, I...

Skunk1 is correct Lee cake cutter. That's how I got started loading cast 38 spcl in the 70's, still have them. You tap the bullets through the sizer , stand the bullets in the little pan that came with the kit and pour melted lube around the bullet....

Don't forget some way to trim cases, the little Lee hand trimmer tools work but are slow. Rifle cases will need trimming, I trim pistol cases to make the crimp uniform. Electronic scales are fine but I will not be without a decent set of beam...

I bought a Marlin 45-70 about 15 years ago, things change and I don't like the recoil even with mild loads. I like my 30-30 much better. So count me among those who question that decision. Interesting link, thanks. The comments about the Enfield...

Just a thought, my buddy had a set of RCBS scales that the tab that goes between the magnets got slightly bent. That shifted the weight enough to throw everything off a couple points across the board. Some careful adjustments and some check weights...

I was given the .50 cal barrel off a CVA Mountain Rifle about 25 years ago. I built a very plain cherry stocked mountain style rifle, doesn't even have a butt plate. The barrel has served me well and I couldn't ask for more as it has accounted for...

All true , aren't you glad that we are old enough to appreciate it. If at 17 we knew what we know now it's not likely we would reach old age. Now we just don't care. Retired not long ago but really like it. Dave

In post #9 I mentioned a K31 that was very accurate with issue ammo. The rifle had one quirk, when I fired cast loads the rifle shot 6-7 inches to the right. It did the same with lower powered jacketed loads but as power increased the poi moved back...

The front sight is not threaded, it is a pin that is bigger at the bottom. You should be able to remove the sight and drive it out from the top. A larger one can be made from something like a finish nail. Just make it too high and file to suit. ...
