    I have loaded 9.4 grains of 2400 with a 158 grain Hornady XTP. I found this load in the 47th Lyman manual. I didn't shoot it over a chronograph but the Lyman manual says 745 FPS in a 4'' barrel. So, my results were a load that was super accurate...

    At 6.5 grains Unique will be safe but on the dirty side. It will clean up at heavier charges but that's not what you want. I also prefer Red Dot for the lighter loadings. Mike

    I use both traditional lubes and powder coating with good succes. Powder coating virtually eliminates smoke. It would be my choice for indoor shooting for sure. Mike

    As a follow up, I first mentioned I haven't tried 44 Special in this gun. Got out this past weekend and ran some 44 Special with 245 grain LRNFP ammo and it fed and functioned perfectly. I'm not sure why the barrel reads "44 Magnum Only" Thanks
