The slide can be pushed back far enough to unlock the firing mechanism, but it's an awful chancy affair to try it, since it takes very close contact with the firearm at the instant the trigger is pulled. Hope this helps. Fred

You're not going to shoot those rounds through your gauge, which is set up for minimum specifications. The true test is the chamber they're going to be fired in. If they fit the chamber, then you're good to go, as long as all the rest is within...

There's a good one but another 10-12 miles further. And rarely go to that town. Could call I guess.

There's a couple pretty good hardwares in the about the 20+ mile radius. One in particular that I do haunt when I'm over there but wasn't looking for brass ones at the time. Maybe the dog and I are going to have to do a little road trip. Fairly...

Does anyone know of a source to purchase a FEW of these. I can find some online but I'll never have a use for a 100 of them. Thanks.

Bigjake, I've had the CH the longest, and have used it the most, and it's permanently mounted to my bench, so I'd probably have to say I prefer the CH. I've only used the Corbin a couple times and it works fine, but I had it mounted to a piece...

You use a cannelure tool to apply a crimp groove, if desired. I have two, a CH and a Corbin. The CH is pictured in the photo: Hope this helps. Fred

Not enough difference to worry about. I've shot hundreds of my swaged bullets from cartridge cases in .357, .41, .44 and .45, and I see no difference at all in the barrels of any of them. The cases are annealed dead soft prior to swaging, too. ...

I drilled my mold to take a 1/8" TC and use my VOM to read the temperatures. Last couple days have been experimenting with the PID settings for my hot plate with the goal of finding just where it needs to be at so the mold is at it's preferred...

To the OP's original question, I have, and use, both the Lyman and RCBS Ram Prime tools. They both work the same and are of the same quality. I really like them for precision primer seating. Just pick the one you can obtain at the best price. ...

I've regulated sight of several SAA clones for particular loads at fixed distances. I just take a bunch of the preferred ammo and a sharp fine file to the range and start shooting. I take a little off the front sight and shoot again. I repeat...

The Uberti rifles and carbines are prone to rusting inside the magazine tube, so you might check that after you take the spring and follower out. I shoot Cowboy Action, so a lot of my fellow shooters have Uberti rifles and pistols, and for some...

My present Rockchucker is a RC II, which RCBS sent me to replace my original Rockchucker that I literally wore out. The current Rockchucker has the 1" ram, but since I've got two other presses more suited to swaging, it remains a reloading press. ...

I'm making hollowpoint bullets, so I don't really want them to close up too much, or they won't open up when they hit something. I mashed the ram on my Rockchucker swaging bullets, and RCBS sent me a new one. I was at the limit of what the...

It's possible to bond cores to jackets without the use of flux, but it involves high temperatures and a "soaking" period. These cores have been melted into the jackets at 1,125 Degrees F, and soaked over night while the kiln cooled down. The only...
