Don't shoot glue bullets or wax bullets at anything you don't want to wound or kill including humans or animals ! For Real! Shooters on this thread have shot these things thru closed garage doors. If you shoot someone in the butt or in the...

Good to look at the article by Ed Harris on reduced loads for milsurp rifles . Having said that, I say 5grs of w231 will shoot ok with the cast bullets. Drill out the flash hole with a number 30 drill. This will allow the primer to get more fire...

Col.E.H.Harrison wrote CAST BULLETS an NRA publication. He is deceased, but not Ed Harris of whom you speak. Ed is the author of the cast bullet article at the beginning of this thread. This is in answer to Versifier post #9.

No offense meant, but you should read your loading manual or get one and not load for a friend's wife using loads off the internet. The loads in the manual are listed with the fastest powders at the top for each bullet weight and the slowest at the...

Great press. I started with a new one in the 60's and resized hundreds of thousands of 30 06's surplus , many probably fired in machine guns.Makes them very hard to resize. Also swaged the military crimps from them and from 45 acps as well as...

Walter Roper who worked for S &W later helped H&R design the 999 to tighter specs to make it a target pistol. If you ream out the cylinders you will ruin the accuracy. Smith and Wesson model 617s are tight cylinders and shoot like a target rifle,...

Wax boolits are a hoot. Can only be loaded singly, but fun. I want to try some hot glue boolits next, primer powered on wax and gluebits.

Try a cylinder of shells loaded with dry tumbling material or grits or dried used coffee grounds to clean out the wax buildup. Then just clean as usual. WD 40 works to clean out the wax too.

I save the used coffee grounds from the morning coffee and put the coffee filter full into the oven and let the dry heat from the pilot lite do its job. The grounds accumulate from each day and are dry after a couple days. They make nice loads and...

If you make up a kit for reloading away from the bench, don't be tempted to remove the primers from original cartons and dump them all together in a jar or other container. I don't want to take anyone to task, but earlier in this old thread I saw...

I like to be able to play with both the alloy or cast pure lead of a pellet and the weight of the pellets. Store bought pellets are limited in both weight and pellet composition. I want more. Casting gives you many options. Mould cost is...
