Here is a match summary from the match director Rick Weber. I'll post his e-mail. 30 matches over 20 years, time does not do it justice as it's has just flown by. This year we were blessed with some great weather both days...

I just got back from the Mid and Long Range match at Oak Ridge. If you shoot a Gibbs rifle or LR ML you should give this match a shot. The distances are 200, 300, 600, and 1000yd. The match is geared toward the beginning LR shooter with generous...

The pistol club that use to shoot on my farm, till we ran afoul of planning and zoning built these bermed ranges. First picture the range on the right allows 125yd. The rest are 25yd. There is a 300yd range on the right of the other 2 pictures. The...

Unfortunately my chrono doesn't do SD but I would think that it would be that low if I did the calculations to get from the extreme spread to SD. Even with a calculator that is a lot of key punching. At least I feel like I'm headed in the right...

I haven't tried to make the cartridge holders but have built a number of cheek risers. I have put retaining loops around the butt. Another thing that works pretty good is to put a piece of tool drawer liner under the leather. This stuff keeps tools...

I finally got a chance to shoot a bunch of 62 gr 40-65 loads that I tried with and without neck tension and varying compression levels. Tried some 1.5F Kik as well as 2F OE. The Kik was quite a bit slower than the OE. The best 2 loads were OE with...

I had a friend bulged a barrel on a 38-50 and couldn't tell any difference in accuracy. I have a 38-40 with a slight bulge, you can feel it when cleaning but can't see it and it shoots fine. I also bulged a barrel on a 45 auto and didn't even know...

I had a 357 mag done on a small action and the smith that did it specializes in Martinis and he wouldn't do it in Max, said the round was too long. Even the 357Mag has to have the lever lowered against the spring tension to get the round in the...

I shoot a 385gr LBT .460 boolit in mine. It was made for a Trapdoor. If you use 20-1 with BP the boolit will slug up to fit the bore. Smokeless not so much. This is what mine will do with that load. Bob

I gaged my powder with store bought. You have to also remember that the thickness of the wire in the screens makes a difference. Thick wire and 30 mesh could mean 4F. Powder making is like skinning a cat there is more than one way to do it and they...

Try a finer powder. My guns shoot best with 3F. My 3F is what is held on a 30 mesh screen. This after it has passed a 16 mesh and 20 mesh. Bob

I have never seen a motor that fast on a household appliance. Usually a motor in that size would be 1750 or 3500 RPMs. Motors of that persuasion aren't that expensive. Bob

Not knowing where you are, makes for problems. In the US Vic Samuels is a great resource. Here are 2 he has done for me. A 357mag without the scope, a 7mm Waters with the scout scope. The Waters shoots a dime size group at 100yd, haven't figured out...
