Nueces replied to a thread Marlin 33 CF in Leverguns
I make 33 WCFs for a Winchester 1886 from 45-70 cases, using a Redding form set. From memory, the first die looks much like a 40-65 sizer, in that it forms the body taper, not the neck. Die #2 is the full sizer. I think you can do as you suggest. ...

The old Lyman advice was to put a paper shim under one side of the sight base to tilt it for windage. I am not comfortable with that, since I think it would invite rust. You know those little white plastic loss prevention stick ons that you find...

Bloomin' little voice will not be still. So, put me down for an even dozen on line 10, funds to follow shortly for the additional 4 moulds.

If you'll post here with measurements of cylinder length and diameter, some of us can help out. Photos would also be very useful.

Two of my earliest moulds were the Lyman 3118 and 31133, the hollow point variation of the 3118. I always lubed both grooves and crimped just over the front band. Both are wonderful in the 32 H&R.

It looks like a Lyman to me, with that little locking lever. My Stroebel book says the W means it's for a Winchester 1873. Same book shows no Marble's sights using s single letter W designation.

Good plan. I confess to a little surprise that RCBS would not supply the proper die free, if they knew yours was mismarked as good for both length cases.

You've got a 44 Magnum only seating die, that's all, and it may be mismarked. Call RCBS and request a trade for the correct die.

Nueces replied to a thread online handle/username in Our Town
I have an appreciation for the South Texas border country, being from the Rio Grande Valley. In the 19th century, the land between the Rio Grande and Nueces Rivers was called the Nueces Strip, generally a lawless part of the state eventually tamed...

Make note of the recycling number found on the bottom of most plastic containers. If you come across acetone in plastic, note the number, google it and find bottles you like with the same number, to insure compatibility.

Lakehouse, I am going to heed the nagging little voice in me noggin and commit to another 4 ingot moulds, making a total of 8 on line 10 of your list. Paypal inbound shortly, to the same ID as before. I greatly appreciate your efforts to put this...

The JM mark indicates a rifle made by Marlin before the Remington acquisition. Marlins feature side ejection, making them more scope (gag) friendly and they don't dump hot empties down your shirt. The flat Marlin receiver top makes top mounted...

Nueces replied to a thread Auction strategies in Our Town
No single auction strategy works every time, but your plan to bid the most you'll want to pay, plus some insurance, is the best overall plan in my estimation. It's what I do with my final seconds snipes on ebay. If I'm outbid, I feel relief at not...

In the new photos, "Cast Boolits" appears to render properly, but the alloy type abbreviations look backward. That is, they read OK in the mould and should be reversed.

I have an old Aussie Martini that is begging to be upgraded, but I can't get past the lack of a functional safety. A carry rifle needs a safety other than carrying with the action partly open. If this new one has such a safety, I'll spring for one,...
