I remember AL when he first started I was the honcho on that ride and we dealt with a few bumps but in the end we gained a great mold maker and a real person to deal with. I buy molds once in a while and if it is something AL makes he gets my money....

Tom W. You are my reloading hero! I have tons (almost literally!) of reloading components, and dozens of platforms to reload for, but never seem to have any time to actually reload and shoot. If there was ever any hope of retiring, I might think...

I got one of those molds. Couldn't get any good castings from it. Tried getting it hot but the handles got too hot to hold on to. What's the secret to getting it to cast?

Hi Rusty, You might try using an 8-point or 12-point socket driven onto the nipple. It cuts splines into the nipple and you just unscrew it. Of course you should pour some penetrating oil down the barrel or submerge the end of the barrel in the...

Don't waste your money on the doit mould. There was someone selling those things under his own name a while ago and I bought one. Poorest excuse for a mould I ever saw. My dad had a fishing sinker mould almost exactly like it. Nothing to even...

I talked to the company(alliant) and it is the company that makes blackMZ that has closed their doors. No plans to find someone new to make it either. Many have said it was really PPG with a new name. Not sure but like you it was good stuff if you...

Had great luck with the stuff. Likes heavier projectiles but shot good in my little .32's also. No rust here in dry Idaho climate using it. Not comparable to Pyrodex in that Pyrodex rusts things up quickly. Smoke is bad as posted earlier. Going...

Just heard they stopped making it? Too bad as it works quite well in shotgun loads. Had more closely matching 2F black velocity with heavier projectiles. Velocity was lower in .40 round ball rifle in comparison to .58 Minie loads of 60 gr....

That's what I like about the plastic as opposed to glass. You can squeeze them down and load your .32 if you have to (being charged by a killer squirrel for instance).

I bought a bunch of plastic vials that are about the same diameter as a .410 shell and put these in a bandolier for loading my shotgun. Half of the bandolier holds the shot and the other end contains the measured charge of powder. It really worked...

I use a small c-clamp to compress the sides- the trick is to use a punch to turn the little plate under the base sideways first so the sides can be squished in a bit. Once you figure it out, it's pretty easy Loren
