I'm good for a while longer on sp primer, but did notice the last time I was up at the components shack at the club, there was ZERO sp primers on the shelf, I was considering adding to stock while there getting something else. Shelf loaded with sp...

CB 2100 and 6100 are pretty hard wads to beat. The seal far better than anything by DR I have seen and in fact infinitely better than those Federal 12S3s you were using. They were notoriously sloppy fits in SW hulls. I don't know what you are...

It seems each caster has their own thang. That said, I had once used some of the commercial fluxing material, and thought it was doing the job. I used the last of this stuff called Buck Beaver flux a year or so back. Soooo, due to this forced...

Same here. If I'm gonna be part of this self-quarantined group, I'ma gonna make use of the home time. Been casting 9mm (four different profiles) 38/.357 (4 different molds), and the good old 45 ACP 230 RN. I'm up over 300# now should last me into...

Like I said, I queried for answers on the board before I posted. If I'm lyin' I'm diein', I swear, I read a thread last night from 2016 that referenced the stepped diameters in the bands. And now I can't find it, and I wasn't drinking last night. ...

That is bizzactly what is printed on the bottom half of each mold. I honestly thought it was a mold serial number. Silly me.

They are not oblong, quite concentric. ,363 both dimensions, which would indicate it was bored that way. That was my first thoughts too. I'm getting zero finning, but before I started my session, I could see a very small crack on one end. Mold...

Some years back, I bought a Lyman 4 cav 358429 mold. I have a number of Lyman 4 cav molds, and naturally not a handle for each mold, but share the 3 or 4 Lyman handles I do have. EXCEPT, for this mold. This being the first issue, narrow handle...

OK, help me out, where is the sticky that would show the bacon grease pic? I know I've been there, but can't find the site right now. Edit to add: Think I found it. Under the Vendor section. Thought there might be a bigger pallet for color...

Gonna make a comment here, just to tag this thread. I may need to be in contact with that other member you mentioned. Some years back, I had this exact issue with a Lyman 2-cav 452-374 mold. I wrote to Lyman, but never got it mailed off. Been...

la5676 replied to a thread Crimping for 9mm in Cast Boolits
You can accomplish the same overcrimping with a taper crimp die. If not adjusted right, you can almost make a 9mm loaded round look like a 357 Sig round. If one follows the directions on an FCD die, it's pretty hard to screw it up. The same can be...

Exactly. I have seen other posters suggest deep sixing the FCD. In no way does it roll crimp on any of the autoloader dies. I don't know where this rumor got started. I don't have a taper crimp die, but this comment from LEE's site about the TCD...

Never used anything but an RCBS ladle dipper. Can fill my LEE 40 and 9mm 6 bangers easily, any of the SAECO or RCBS 4 holers. I generally keep a wet towel and cool it occasionally, and alternate between the steel molds too.

I cast up a bunch of boolits from a mold I borrowed from Dad several years ago. Only recently got them powder coated. He loved it for the carbine, it was almost a spittin' image of the ball ammo profile, 115 grain, FB. I look forward to trying...

Do you have a garage? It works great there for me when I lived on a similar lot, but even now, on 5 acres, I still utilize the garage. Odor there are are not as noticable and you can always open the door to air out. My two pesos.
