I use pillow cases. A normal size one fits completely over a 550B on a 4" micromount from Inline Fabrication. One of the king size pillow cases should handle a taller press on a taller mount w/ ease.

This is an old pic. The wood is now as wide as possible. If it needs to be higher or lower I just remove the support pieces at the front and back. No need for anything fancy.

You have to go back a long time to get ballard rifling. You want an "A" model if they ever made one in 35 Remington. Can't imagine they didn't at some point.

The 1894Cs have had ballard rifling w/ a fast enough twist to handle heavy weight bullets for a few decades now.

Just because you're using a suppressor doesn't mean you use subsonic ammo. It still decreases the decibel level. I will agree that using subsonic ammo for hunting isn't a smart thing to do. It will have enough power at certain ranges so it can be...

Pretty much sums up my thoughts exactly. Shots here are almost always under 100 yards. The terrain doesn't allow for longer shots. Yet somehow you will hear multiple shots in quick succession. 100 yards is not a long shot and should be well w/in...

There's a row of icons at the top. The fifth one from the left allows you to edit bullet data. It brings up a window when clicked. One of the options at the bottom is to "Add New". It will save it to whatever name you type in at the top. I...

If you have a toaster oven use that instead of the regular one. I always degrease and heat cycle new molds. It helps even w/ aluminum. W/ brass it's a must unless you want to potentially ton a mold. Following Al's instructions is a smart move. ...

They're different guns. I don't want a top eject lever. It's why I don't own any Winchesters. They are a higher quality gun. But you'd still need to send it off to have the barrel threaded.

I've heard this time and time again since Remington bought Marlin. Until they're on the shelves I don't believe it. I have one of the few Remington made 1894Cs that were produced. There was a small run before they shut down production years ago. ...

The polygonal rifling is a non issue w/ cast bullets. It's one of those rumors that persists. There's a long running thread here about it. You will find lots of people here, including myself, shooting cast in stock Glock barrels.

Oh no, 8" of snow. That means you get up early to clear it, go to work, come home and clear what fell during the day. We're supposed to get 2"-3". For some reason they already delayed school two hours. They never did when I was a kid, which was...

They had very little left. In fact they have very little barrels period, not just the clearance ones.

The backstrap really isn't an issue. I remove magazine disconnects from all my guns. The backstrap doesn't come off easily. I realize it will disable it but it takes an intentional act to remove it.

You will be glad you have it when you're settled in at the new place. I'd rather move buckets of brass than any containers of lead. I'm regretting loading 50cal cans up w/ bulk jacketed bullets.

Quickload gives erratic results w/ straight wall cases. I don't trust it w/ them especially w/ H110. I've chronoed loads and they didn't match, outside margin of error by a good bit, QL's predictions. It will tell you case fill but I wouldn't...

The big bores have an enlarged ejection port. That's the only difference between them and a regular one. I've built five on Anderson uppers, and lowers, so far. I had an issue w/ one of them. The holes for the FA didn't line up correctly so I...

In general the lighter the bullet the less acceptable weight variation. Only you can determine what's acceptable.

I don't know why you guys need qtips. I place a few drops on the underside of the plate and tilt it to get full coverage. Then wipe it off w/ a rag. Rub the top of the blocks and the top of the plate w/ the rag and the mold is good to go. You'd...
