That's why flatness of a fired primer is a poor indication of pressure. I tested some Winchester white box M193 a few years back for a friend. He said he was getting 3340 fps from his 20" AR. That is a bit fast. I stopped after 7 rounds as...

Previous TMs had definitions and testing procedures. Also the pressures listed are MAPs (Maximum Allowable Pressure). That is not necessarily what any lot of cartrdges is actually loaded to. Cartridges are loaded to a +/- velocity spec not to...

Yes the pressures are listed as "psi" but they are measured via CUP method. All older published pressures taken via CUP and LUP were refered to as "psi". However, with the advent of modern and better pressure measuring methods (transducer and...

With a bullet stuck in the throat, leade, etc. an AR bolt/carrier when drawn to the rear and released has sufficient momentum to push the next feeding bullet back into the case. I saw this many times over the years even with M193 and M855 ammo. It...

I did coat the inside and outside of the gourds with fiberglass resin for my wife to make flower pots or knick necks out of. It made them stronger , but I never made them into canteens

You've all the right parts there. Problem is your not understanding what bullet stabilization is. Bullet stability is simply that the bullet has enough rotational spin to fly point forward. Bullets can be very stable yet inaccurate. It is the...

The force of the LR primer explosion in the primer pocket pushes the case forward in the chamber. That resizes the case just like when you push the case into a sizing die. Eccept the case is already sized so the chamber shoulder sets the case...

Unbalanced bullets do in fact, stabilize. Please, let us not confuse bullet stability with the decreases in accuracy unbalanced bullets can have. Unbalances in bullets is the primary reason why we shoot groups instead of all the bullets going...

I have to go with this also because it's what I do with my 30/31 cal rifles. I shoot cast bullets ranging from 90 gr up through 220 gr. Which I use depends on the application intended.

If you seat a cast bullet, GC'd or not, below the case neck of a bottle necked cartridge there may or may not be a noticeable affect. Whether there is or not depends on several things; Intensity of the load (heat generated and time of exposure...
