I lapped out a Lee two cavity mold from .356 to .360 to use in my .38's and .38 S&W's Again, it all depends on the mold and the alloy. I do have one Lee .356 that with Lino will cast .357. That two cavity will probably be Lapped out also some day...

My Lee .309 molds mostly cast at .3095 depending on the alloy. But if you cant Lap out a mold like I do, then the better money would be spent on the NOE mold. But I have taken things like the Lee C311 - 155 GC two cavity mold out to .316 by making...

I did build a Mauser for a guy a few years back using that stock. It was a better price back then, but what isnt. The guy was from Poland and prefered the the Hump back European style. I liked it, But he had me refinish it to a High gloss Poly...

Accomplishing those velocities safely should be easy enough with the right powders. Given a 14" twist any problems with accuracy will depend more on bullet design, consistency and quality of the cast bullet, fit and the lube used.

I've salvaged numerous of those over the years. with needle nose pliers I bend the inner lip back a little so it won't fold back under. Then I put a punch close to caliber diameter securely held by the handle part in a vise. the pinch part is...

Both of these are Boyd's stocks. They are the "same" Pre Finished Mauser stocks. The bottom one is one that I removed the finish and did a little customizing to sharpen up the lines on the cheek peice and add a little detail at the Bolt stop and...

I got the 4 sticks of Javelina triggerhappy243, want to thank him again. I also used the Lyman black graphite back "in the day" before I saw an add for Javelina in the American Rifleman. Javelina was a miracle to say the least. I've found it to...

I do a twisting between forefinger and thumb of both hands to pull the patch up tight then glue the trailing edge then roll it over the base leaving an 'eye'. I also use a tailless patch. Not sure which is better but printer paper rolls over the...

In my opinion based on experience I prefer 3 or 4 up through 8mm. From 35 through 45 cal I prefer 6. They should provide 35 to 40% bore surface. Groove depth should be minimum of .004 to .005 max.

If you're looking at 1600+ fps I suggest a GC bullet. The 429244 and 429640HP are my choice in Contenders, rifle/carbines and 6"+ barreled revolvers in 44 magnum. A 16-1 alloy is what I use.

The problem with the Scout Mounts is not the Mount in Most Cases. It is the LER scope that is limiting. People tend to buy the Cheap ones, me included. But it is better than no scope, or destroying a fine Mil Surp by drilling and tapping one for...

Google 22LR unbalanced bullets. You'll see the helical arc in the video. The RPM of those 22LRs is only 66k +/-. Increase the RPM to 140K to 190k and you can imagine the difference.

From my pressure and velocity testing I think you'll find your loads are higher performance than most 158 gr factory loads available today.

"My favorite alloy right now is a balanced 3.21% tin, 3.21% antimony and 93.58% lead." I also use a similar alloy as 6622729 as I also have accumulated quite a bit of "range lead". I find it makes an excellent alloy when additional lead and tin...

Couldn't agree more. My '05 has the straight six and a six speed trans. With the high/low that gives me 12 forward speeds. In low range 1st gear I can step out and walk faster than the jeep. My days of "I got 4 wheel drive and a winch....I can go...

Both of those bullets are "bore riders" having less than 50% bearing surface (that which is "groove diameter" in the bore) in relation to the bullet OAL. That means there is a whole lot of basically unsupported nose mass that can and will bend or...
