That bullet is a great deer bullet, I and several others on here have used it successfully with no excessive meat damage. You cast it way too hard, pushed it too fast and shot something that wasn't realistic at point blank range and then call the...

The .22 LR drought got me to looking at other things and was what got me into casting for the .22 Hornet, I bought a Hornet specifically to do that. In retrospect, I might have done better trying to do it with my .223. My old Savage 110 has the...

This is my thought. I have a few sinker molds, one that casts egg sinkers and one that casts tear drop sinkers, both of various weights. I think I have a jig mold somewhere too from the days I used to use a lot of light jigs (never did get...

Been giving this project more thought and just read this one again. I have a Harbor freight tool stand, cost $5 and has that cross piece. I also have an old Pacific C press I got for $15 that sizes on the up stroke. I think this is coming...

Your round balls should be cast from pure, or pure with just a touch of tin for fill-out if needed.

This is the show in Wichita I referenced; https://www.visitwichita.com/event/chisholm-trail-antique-gun-association-gun-show/22602/ Best big gun show I have been to in years. Lots and lots and lots of reloading and bullet casting stuff, never...

I used a short .54 barrel on my Hawken one year and killed a little buck with it. Used a TC Maxi Hunter mold and yes, it did indeed kick hard. I was young and dumb and probably used way more Pyrodex than was necessary, especially given the ranges...

Dad gave me a big ol' drum of Alcan 120 I have been using up for a couple of years now. I managed to find enough load data (120 was never real popular in anything it seems) to figure out it burns like Red Dot, so I have been using Red Dot starting...

...............I'd picked this mould up many moons ago and haven't even warmed it up yet. I'm in the process now of inventorying all my moulds and would like to know what this one is supposed to be. Looks like a 30/31 cal, maybe 160/180 gr RNGC. ...

I have never even tried T7. I guess the main reason I don't care to try it is that it has a reputation for leaving a nasty "crud ring'. Not saying it is doing that with your rifle, but it might be. I've had such good success with Goex 2F, that for...

I went to a gun show in Wichita last weekend with my Dad. It's one that seems to cater to old and antique stuff, not table after table of black rifles and automatic pistols, maybe that's the difference. Nothing out of the ordinary, no protests,...

I had been using the Lee universal die to load .38-55, apparently, it wasn't cutting it. I do use it pretty much all the time when loading cast rifle bullets. These dies made a huge difference.

I don't understand it either. Before I bought the Accurate 55-430M mold for my 54, my go to was the 425gr Hornady GP conical with 85 gr of Goex 2F. The GP shot very well, but the Accurate conical shoots even better with the same 85 gr charge. I have...

I kind of wish I had thought of that as I was using a set of old RCBS dies before, might could have saved a little money and just replaced the expander plug. Oh well. To say I'm impressed with how much better these dies made this rifle shoot is...
