Last Fall my deer load was one of my Dad's cast bullets which weighed about 330 grains and 30 grains of 5744. Shot clear through a good sized doe almost lengthwise from maybe 60 yards which is about what my normal range is or less. That load is...

OK. I have several molds with flat noses for .30 calibers, so no need. I would like to hunt with the Ideal 311284 I shoot in some rifles, always considered casting some with soft noses, but maybe this would be better.

That NOE clone of the RCBS bullet worked well for me with 40 grains of IMR 4320.

I haven't loaded any in a while so would have to figure out OAL again. The load was 28 grains of IMR 4895 and a little tuft of Dacron on top of it. I was aiming for 1800 FPS, don't own a chronograph, so not sure. That bullet went through about...

I think you have a typo. you wrote powder and maybe meant to type primer? You can substitute one primer for another loading BP and not have to start over for pressure reasons like you would with smokeless powder. Often a change in primers from a...

CCI use to sell 9mm Largo. Send an email to them an see if they still have runs of it occasionally. Or have one of your LSG guys check with their distributors to see if you can special order it. Is it possible to run 38 super hand loads in that gun?

No doubt those Core Lokts are good bullets, I've used a few myself, but for the past nine years, it's been cast or arrows for me and from here on out, anything 7mm or bigger is gonna use cast. I used cast in muzzle loaders for years before than,...

Kev18, sorry to hear about the gun shop owner going brain dead on you. I just looked at GB and they only list two winchesters in the configuration you are desiring. One is a 1887 in ten gauge, the other is the model 1901 in ten gauge. The 1887 is...

I bought one of these from Ranch Dog when he was still selling them, great bullet. I haven't used it in a .30-30, but it worked great in a .308.

They're basically the same bullet except for the slightly rounded nose. How do you file a flat on it and keep it consistent?

I like the 31141, worked on deer for me. Haven't used it in .30-30 but the Ranchdog bullet mentioned worked well in a .308 for me on deer as well. I haven't used it hunting yet, but I like the RCBS 180 grain FP a lot in the rifles I've shot it...

Okay. The hunting Reg's have a "What's New for (2018)" section and the changes to Round Ball caliber went larger as we have talked about on here BUT in true fashion, they failed to mention that they no longer list the requirement that bullets be...

I finally got a chance to try out the Noe 314299 boolits a member sent me, sized .314 and lubed with 2500+. I loaded some up with 19.0 gr of SR4759, and 21 grains of 5744. I got similar results as Ray's post above, very tight groups with both loads....

This one is a card board keg with steel ends, pretty sturdy for cardboard. It has a sticker type label on it, but for the most part is white. Alcan 120 was apparently never a popular powder for anything, but I got about five pounds or so from my...

The .218 Bee is enough bigger than the Hornet that it would need some magazine and other mods to make it feed. Is it possible to do a chamber cast to see what it is? Seems it could be a K Hornet?
