    I think that 'crud or dirt' everyone speaks of is actually 'oxidized bullet metal' being drawn down in the mix when the sprues go back in the pot. Depending on how well you re-prep the next pot fill, stirring/scraping, skimming a little, maybe 1/3...

    Screw those little post that hold the shell holder in farther...measure them at the same spacing off the face of the holder where the cartridge case sits or the case will cock from side to side with their uneven tension.

    Use a Q-Tip and rub it around the edges of that cavity on the parting faces...if there's micro burs there they'll grab the cotton. Try taking a popsicle stick and carefully rubbing the edges of that problem cavity, sometimes there are micro-burs...
