I agree, that's a sad testament to the manufacturing standards of today's hi-tec society ... but too ... we have to be very careful of the glass tube thermometers, they are delicate. I am surprised that mine has lasted for years ... I am a Bull in...

What a great page full of 'close-up's' pictures. I love it when folks get so 'into' doing a 'justified' PC coating! A well done, best attempt...I really think it matters. It speaks volumes about that handloaders practices everywhere else in...

I ran across the idea of 're-profiling' and a die made to do that. ( a bit pricy too ) Have you any knowledge of this? Would it help with what you have discovered? http://www.portercalls.com/neal_waltz_die.htm

hahaaa...thanks for the kind words for sure! I guess that I learned early in life from my Grampa James...when I'd get in a hurry to get something done and goof it up, he'd come along and give me a ration of grief over it...saying..."How come...

I have never polished a mold in my life and why should I? Quality molds like my H&G, Saeco, NOE, etc.are already cut to exacting measurements far better than I would acheive with stick in a hand drill. I have no undersized molds and if I wanted one...

I personally, can see no need in firing a projectile that is not as accurate as I can make it, but to each his own. If you don't size then pardon the pun, but you are loading a moving target. In my limited Ransom Rest testing there was NO...

Some information straight from Prismatic Powders regarding second coats for lower temp cure powders. "For thicker substrates, which require long bake times a substitute cure schedule of 20 mins at 350F may be used. As always, the cure time...

When I first got into PC a polymer physicist told me that for my bullet coating he estimated that using a hard polyester powder would be the best choice for my needs. Since PC from 2012 I have found he was right, even though he had never coated a...

I agree with all those that say secure a lead source first. When you think about I and many others don't think anything at all about loading and shooting 1000 rounds of 45 ACP, but consider 1000 standard round nose 230 grain bullets takes about 33...

Here is my setup, which has served me well since 2012. Notice the bottom pour design copied from my RCBS Pro-Melt. This will deliver in excess of 200 "Clean"one pound ingots as fast as I can fill the molds.

I powder all my bullets and my favorite mold is an H&G #7. But many bullet choices will group under 1-1/2" at 25 yards out of a Ransom rest and these are some. The NOE #358-128, which is a 9mm version of the classic H&G #68; I have two 4 cavity...
