Neat idea for an AR. I have two single shot 357MAXs. One a handi rifle with 16" bbl and a CVA Scout pistol. I love them, but i would like to have a .350 Legend in a Savage bolt action carbine. No AR brass slingers for me.

Is this a semi auto or a bolt action? The Ruger American Rifle Ranch rifle is a bolt action 16" threaded bbl .312 bore. In other words a traditional 7.62x39 barrel. Mine shoots best with .313 cast bullets. It shoots very well with Accurate...

The most accurate ammo I ever got my hands on was a load of FA 36 Match. corrosive of course, but super accurate and good brass than loaded at least ten times each with good accuracy. I also have a pile of SL 52 brass that is quite servicable.

I get good results with Universal in cast rifle loads. 8-9 grs in most .30s from 150-180 is very accurate and clean.

I had one of his 97D rifles in his proprietary 30-30 improved. It was the worst and most expensive gun mistake of my life. The barrel is fixed to the receiver by epoxy which means no one will work on them and the extractor/ejector is very fragile.

It would be worth looking at re-cutting that chamber to .303 Br. or 7.62x54 Russian. Either with a .3085 bore would make a good cast bullet load with more beans than a .30-30. 30-40 is a good caliber but brass is pricey and sometimes hard to...

I know about "pole bean" where doctored small arms ammo, and mortar rounds left behind for the NVA to use, and kill some of their people. The plan was to make the NVA distrust the Chinese who furnished most of their ammo. Didn't know that the...

I have no experience with the Howa, but am interested in the cheap AR mags for the RARs. I have a 762X39 RAR Ranch Rifle that works very well with Ruger Ranch Rifle mags that are shipped with it. I have a RAR Ranch in .223 but the plastic mag is...

I wish my shoulder was tough enough to handle full pressure loads in .35 Whelan. I have a 76 in .35 Rem that belonged to my father. I currently hunt with a 7600P in .308 with a 16 inch barrel. Nice muzzle flash. If you get a good hit on a deer...

Ruger makes two of their .223 Ruger American rifles to take AR magazines. One is a preditor with 22"barrel and the other is a Ranch rifle with 16" barrel. Has anyone bought one and had any experience to pass on. I am thinking of one or the...
