    I thought I got the OP's point. The old Mauser chamberings had some mellow shooters like the venerable 7mm. It was on point before Jack O'Connor's .270 Winchester. Now I will confess if I built a rifle I just might hand stamp it .275 Rigby...

    Well those hornady .224 SX bullets have no problem expanding. I bought them for a .22-250 in my youth. Opened the box and find that speed warning slip. They sat for years until my dad needed some shells for his savage 340 in .222. Perfect fit...

    Buddy the last post was six years ago. They might not be following this thread. I remember a Browning .30-40 octagon barrel in a display case in a gander mountain and They had it marked down to just under $1k. Sorry that's as much as I can help.
