30calflash If your Marlin has a 20" barrel then 200 yards is realistic with the 150s using LvR powder. With the 160 FTX Hornady 250 is very doable. If you've a 24" barrel then 300 yards is certainly possible. With a 20" barrel expect...

My J pet load for decades has been 46.5 gr of IMR 4064 with either the Hornady or Sierra 168 gr HPBT Match. LC cases and CCI No.34 primers. If I don't have the #34 I will use WLR. Am I reading that your new to you CMP Garand has a rubber buttplate?

I've been in Flagstaff since 1977. Yes, the town has grown, but it's still a small town and hasn't lost it's charm. FYI, I believe the hospital here has some satellite "branches", so it may or may not be in Flagstaff. Either way, you'll have...

Rich, just saw your post. Yes, the paper hulls are working perfect. The PW press was pretty much good to go. I did order a new o-ring to go under the powder dispensing area of the press to keep the powder leakage down, the old one was a little flat...

Baby steps...They've been slowly but steadily adding to their lineup. They have come a long way in the last several years, and I'm sure if we keep letting them know what we want/need they will add stuff IF the demand is there.

My go to powder is Leverevolution. It will give top velocity and accuracy with lower pressures than many other powders. Jacketed or cast, this stuff really shines in the 30-30. 3031 is a time proven performer, but LVR is hands down my favorite.

Here lies your problem/s as I see it. Primers falling out = Might be time to toss the brass due to enlarged primers pockets. You could try a different brand of primer to see if they fit tighter. Range pickup brass = There's usually a reason it's...

I clean mine from the muzzle using a bore guide. I surely hope I haven't been doing it wrong all these years! BTW, I clean my M1 Garands and M1A the same way. The rod never contacts the barrel/crown. If I'm in the field I might use a bore snake.
