Mev, I know many do that. For myself I will stick to black on those guns made and ment for black. I wish you continued success in your endeavors with substituting smokeless.

Very nice JB, enjoy it. I made one years ago so the wife and I could get away from the crowds at the range and love it.

Drm50 I think you hit it on the head. It's so easy to think that I'll just use a lite load of smokeless and it will be ok. I'm sure it is tempting to many, but if you want to shoot smokeless, than the best way to do it is to buy a firearm made...

The 1887 models, both the 10 and 12 gauge were made for black powder. Winchester did not start using fluid steel until the 1901 model, that model is made for smokeless powders. I am working on data for both the 10 & 12 gauge. I have one of each...

A close look at the price tag on top of the can and you'll see "sealed". The LGS owner let met "whip out my pocket knife" and open it because if it was good I was buying it. If it was bad he was throwing it away. Believe it or not but I shoot a...

I use that same Lee TL314-90 SWC in all of my 30 Cal rifles sized .311, and sized .314 in the Mosin Nagant. I use 3.2 grains of Bullseye in the 308, 30-06 and Mosin. 2.7 gr BE in the 30-30. I just very lightly coat them with LLA. The loads are tack...

Geeez Marlin356, these guys really need to get their act together. Here's just an example. I sent them a email last week re a neck expander for my 8x58RD roller that I use Hungarian brass for and I ask them if they made one in 8mm. Got an answer day...

I disassemble them and spray them out with Gun Scrubber and scrub with a toothbrush. I then lube them with Hornady dry lube. Been doing this for a long time.

C&H does them for just under 12 bucks each. But you need to check with Dave as to what die body they work in.

MOA replied to a thread What did you cast today? in Cast Boolits
I got so tired of being run out of outdoors due to it raining all the time and the humidity so I moved it indoors to the stove top, it's soooo nice casting in the A/C that I doubt if I will ever do it outside again.

As Outpost mentioned the 14" twist is standard for the 6x47. The Sierra 75 gr HP is a popular bullet for general use. That twist will be best for cast also as long as the cast bullet isn't any longer than the 75 Sierra.

Your casting looks good so eliminating that let's look at the mould. Are the handles allowing the blocks to completely close? Holding them closed with spruce plate open up to light you see no space between the blocks?

The C312-185-1R shoots excellently in my Finn M39 SAKO. When I use it I load it over 28.5 gr 4895 and use a dacron filler. I cast the bullets out of COWW + 2% tin or, for absolute best accuracy, #2 alloy. I use Hornady GCs, lube with 2500+ and...
