Depends on what you are using it for. You could just add tin and be fine. If it's for handgun use I'd mix the lino in a ratio of 1/3. For rifle, a 1/1 ratio will give you "hardball" alloy.

I have a Winchester M70 Featherweight in 270 Win. Not a short action, but it's plenty of gun for the wide open places I hunt. It's flat shooting, accurate, and pleasant to carry compared to my Ruger 77 300 Win Mag. Recoil is tolerable too. It wears...

AbitNutz. sure would be interested in some images of the cartridge that you worked on. Sounds like you took on the challenge and came out the winner.

Well after casting up a small pile yesterday in the kitchen I am going to load them up in some new brass thats been waiting to become cartridges. Did about half of them today and will finish up the other half tomorrow. No sense getting in a hurry to...

POI shift happens (no pun intended), not only with centerfire cartridges but with rimfire as well. My suggestion would be to try a different powder. Try some Bullseye or Titegroup and see what happens.

Another thumbs up for the Howard Leight Impact muffs for handgun shooting. For rifle, I use the Peltor Tactical 6. Both have served me well.

I took Larry's advice on the Lee TL314-90 SWC a long time ago. Not only does it work, it's splendidly accurate. I also shoot thousands in my 30's sized .311 and .314 in my Mosin Nagant. Don't let case prep scare you away from this. In fact, I am...

Like the chevy vs ford debate.......the best one is the one you've already spent your money on.........simply because that's what you've got. I've used Lyman 45s, 450s and 4500s I currently have three 450s. I've used the RCBS and a couple similar...

For my black powder stuff, I usually use Bore Butter in the winter and a 50/50 blend of beeswax and olive oil in the summer. I also discovered that the beeswax olive oil mix blends easily with Bore Butter. I have a tub of this that I have been using...

Well was hoping it was not going to rain, but I was wrong. Decided I was tired of being run out of outdoors on account of rain, (like four weeks of rain) so, I decided to take over the kitchen stove to get some casting done. But first, off to home...

I shoot thousands of TL314-90-SWCs sized .311 in all my .30 calls and .314 in all my .31 calls. Use 2.7 gr Bullseye up through 300 Savage capacity and 3 - 3.2 gr up through 06 capacity. I TL in LLA, let dry before sizing which keeps the grooves from...

In my neck of the woods, it's packrats that crawl up in the engine compartment and chew wiring. I have had to "rescue" a couple of friends who were out in the woods either camping or hunting when their vehicle became disabled.

Located a home for my new 44 cal spire pointed mold. It's a old Ideal mold #429 303. Was real surprised when I saw it up on ebay, so I jumped on it. It just arrived today, so next non-rainy day it will get the hot lead treatment it so richly...

Note also the Fryxell/Lee formula is intended to determine the psi at which "obturation" begins. It does not determine the psi of any "load". Fryxell was also referencing bullets in revolvers needing to obturate to seal the cylinder throats. The...

Nor does the formula take into account the alloy used. The formula is based on the pressure needed to obturate lead. Many of us shoot cast bullets well above the "failure" level that formula prescribes.
