Shot was about 20 yds. This gun is quite accurate and I would be comfortable out past 150 yds but most of my called coyotes are well within 50 yds. Many a lot closer. The mount. I took a piece of mild steel I had laying around and bored it as...

The weather cooled off a little here so about dark I took the rolling block for a walk. I called up 3 but this is the only one I got a shot at. The gun. Carl Gustav mod 67, made in 75 refitted in 93. 8x58 RD The load. NOE 175 gr. Cast 50/50, I...

I shoot only black in my inline. I carry a coffee pot of boiling water to the back porch. Pour a cup or two down the barrel. Swab with a bore mop a few times. Repeat. Pour the rest of the pot down the barrel. This is hot enough to dry immediately. A...

My ex wife's grandfather once told me that as long as you miss then you can shoot at them again.

I use the 311008 and 5 gr of clays in my 30-30. 5 gr was the first charge I run with this boolit and I never saw a reason to experiment further. 1200 fps, quiet and accurate. I don't have a hornet yet.

8-1/2 gr of unique runs in the neighborhood of 950 with several different 255 ish boolits. My deer load at the time is the NOE 454-255- RF with the small HP in. These mushroom very well cast of 50/50 AC. Penetration is quite good with a very raking...

Wolfer replied to a thread 7x57mm Mauser in Hunting with CB's
When I was young and knew so much more than I do now I was not impressed by the 7x57. Later in life I happened to trade for a 98 with a 7x57 barrel. I started shooting it and it shot quite well and was pleasant to shoot. Deer season rolled around...

SA revolvers are pretty simple. I don't know the proper names of everything but there's a piece that rides on your hammer that holds the bolt down until it's nearly at full cock. If the little ear is broke off or damaged the bolt will drop before...

I run 50/50 and sometimes softer in my 06 above 1800 fps. 2 light coats of LLA and accuracy is very good and leading is nonexistent. Terminal performance is also excellent. On reading your post my first thought is that your boolits are too small....

Hey! Congratulations. What's that white stuff on the ground? Calling coyotes is reall a blast when it all comes together. After coyote hunting successfully for a while deer become very easy.

Wolfer replied to a thread Savage Axis Grouping in Factory Rifles
Ive had this problem several times. Factory stocks come with a pressure point at the end of the forearm. As the barrel heats up and swells slightly it pushes the bore line up. On my old 760 in 30-06. It had a thin metal plate that wedged between...
