A friend's dad was a mechanic for a long ago gone truck line. He would bring me big coffee cans full of these things that kept both of us shooting for a while. That was way back in the 70's. I just wish I had known at the time about mixing 50/50...

Don't think you are the only one to do that. I did it with .45 colt and .357 cases and no I didn't do it again.

I found one used from a guy that was getting out of the game, I almost felt bad at the time but the guy's wife wanted it gone. I got his whole reloading room for $350. That was in 2004 and have loaded tones of bullets on the thing. I don't think...

I use a homemade lead hammer with an all thread handle wrapped in electrical tape. There is a sticky here somewhere that shows how to do it. When is gets beat up just stick it in the melt and then cast a new one. I use some 6 & 8 cavity molds,...

I never really gave it much thought but some bullets have deeper groves than others. Don't sweat the small stuff, I live by the general rule of 'FIT IS KING all else is secondary.' That has served me well over the years.

I use the solid top hot plate and set it to right at a little less than medium when I get the melt started and they are ready at the same time. I have an 8 cavity H&G and have gotten it too hot twice. That beast takes a while to cool down. When I...

I have one of the primer catchers in the link. It is hooked up to an old spartan press. It works pretty good but it will miss one every now and then. I have a piece of clear plastic tubing and use a plastic nut container from Sam's Club to catch...

LenH replied to a thread Lubesizer heaters in Boolit Lube !
I found a small oil pan heater on Amazon about 4 years ago for about 10 bucks, I got it in the summer months and it was cheaper. it is 25 watts and 1" X 5" and that little thing gets really hot, I use a lamp dimmer switch from a big box store and...

The only time I have rendered indoor range lead, it was free. I had to wait until the range closed and the owner took me in the back door where there were piles of the scrap. I was able to get a half of a 5 gallon bucket. That is what I could carry...
