Very nice buck! That's what I need bang/flop! This tracking in the dark thru wet pine needles is too hard on this old goat!

Isn't that the clone of the Lyman 311440 round nose flat point known as "the Hammer of Thor" I have a 4C MP-311-440HP that I've yet to really play around with, but it sure looks like a killer.

Nice job! I've heard deer make all kinds of funny noises from grunts to bleats to baaaaas, and stuff in between! Sunday night I think I heard one belt out,"Hey buddies, the coast is clear...season's over!"

Blood trail was not real easy. There was 3 or 4 times where she laid down and there was lots of blood when she got up. It was dark about 1/2 hour before we found her. Thank God for flashlights and lights on 4 Wheelers cause we needed them for this...

Distance was 45 yards, load was an MP-433-640HP with 7.1g of Trail Boss. Boolit went right through both lungs and exited without hitting any ribs. My son, who is 10% American Indian(from his mother's side):p, tracked it with the aid of a flashlight...

I have found the Lyman 429421 to be the most accurate boolit in the .44 magnum. I realize you are inquiring about the best boolit for the .44 Special. When I want .44 Special performance outta the .44 mag case, I use the 429421 and 7g of Trail Boss.

I recently had a casting session with the NOE 311-202RG4 with the cup points, and noticed I got considerable lead build up on the cup style pins to the extent that the mould halves were no longer closing properly. Anybody else experience this? How...

I loaded up 10 more J-B Paste and the 311466, and fired them, but I haven't had the chance to go down to the range to see if there was any improvement. I also loaded up the 5 cases I used for the fire lapping with my 16g of 2400 and the RCBS 30-150,...

I shot many whitetails years ago with my 10" 7mmTCU. I was never disappointed with the performance of a Speer 145g spire point, and H-322. When I went to cast boolits because of the cost of jacketed bullets for IHMSA competition, I used the Saeco...

I've read that one should discard brass used for "cat sneeze" or fire lapping barrels, but I don't know if this is a "truism" or just another old wives tale. A dental pick inserted down the neck of my fire lapping brass did not detect the dreaded...

After fire lapping 5 more; with 3g this time, of Red Dot and the 311466, I am still not getting the accuracy of each 5 shot group to be similar. I shall try 10 more.

The rifle I have in mind doing this with is a Savage Mdl 11 in .308 Winchester. I loaded up 5 rounds with 4g of Red Dot behind a Lyman 311466 that was sized to .309 and had a hardness of Bhn 14. I hand applied the J-B paste to the multi grooves of...

From what I've read, it appears that J-B paste is mainly a bore cleaner. Has anybody used it with success as a fire lapping product?

Yesterday I fired some more groups with the NOE 311-165FN and the RCBS 30-150FN. The Noe would give a decent 1-1/2" group and then things went south. Still did not find any lead specks on a patch. I tried both .308 diam and .309 diam. I only had 15...

From my experience with the .44 mag in lever rifles, a RNFP design will feed much easier than a SWC design like either the 429421 or the 429244. Also, since you have determined your bbl's diameter as .432, you are gonna need a mould that throws a...

The boolits I've used have all had Hornady gas checks applied. The bore does not seem rough, as a patch will go thru without grabbing. I'll check the twist, but I was assuming it is 1:10. Other designs that I have are: NOE 311-165, RCBS 30-150,...

I've been trying to develop a load combo for my Savage Mdl 11, that would be at least competitive in local CBA matches. Experiments with the NOE 311-202FN have been puzzeling. I'll get a decent 1.1" 5 shot group at 100 yards with 16g of 2400, and...
