Yes and it was not good. It jammed with every brand and weight of ammo. It was my hunting buddies gun and he carried it back to the dealer and they gave him another one that was just as bad. He didn't feel like having a "project" gun so he got his $...

Ditto on the wax/boolit lube. I've used a small piece of Lyman beeswax/alox lube cut into a small doughnut for years and it worked like a charm. Just remember to light the smoke with a match to keep it from smoking your shop up.

Did you chronograph those Skeeter loads? I am wondering what they clock from a magnum case. I'm guessing a little slower but the chrono will tell.

I had similar problems and mine was zinc in the wheel weights. I drained the pot and use pure lead with approximately 15-20% lino with 2% tin. No more voids. Good luck. Wheel weights were the best material yrs ago but nowdays its a krap shoot as to...

Pretty much fun isn't it. I retired at 62yrs and 7 days. Never looked back and I had a very good job. Beat cancer and now have a 3yr old grandson that makes every step I do and I love it! Who wouldn't want to spend time with this guy? You couldn't...

If you think they are ugly now, just put a coating on it! It is REALLY ugly now but its the absolutely best shooter I own. Day in and day out it will make ragged holes if I do my part and they will swallow any reasonable load you stuff in them...

Here is my no respect gun (one of them). but I wouldn't sell it for love or money. A little 32 Long Hand Ejector that shoots cast better than I can hold it. Perfect bore and bought from a guy who was raising $ for a magnum. $225 and it went home...

No Kidding, IF, it is in good condition I'd buy it yesterday! My friend has one in 375Win that is unfired and I cringe every time I look at it thinking how much fun it would be to cast for it and shoot it.

Be thankful that you have a gun club to join. There are a lot of casters and shooters who have to jump through a lot of hoops just to cast, much less shoot. Good for you, hope you enjoy retirement as much as I have.

Here is my latest and last 629. It's been to Alaska 3 times and in the Kenai River 1 time. Shook it dry and brought it inside the cabin for a couple of days and it's never skipped a beat. I fed it a bunch of 275 gr LBT's at 1200 fps with no sign of...

I love Starline brass and here is the reason to use all 1 kind. I have a mixed bag of R-P, W-W, Federal, Hornady and who knows what other brand. When I load them and start to seat boolits and crimp, I am constantly making minor adjustments to the...

No kidding! 60k psi from a 7 1/2" barrel with a cyl gap to boot, gives more blast than I an willing to endure long enough to get proficient with. Load it down to about 36k lbs and I'm all in for that, but the blast is, uh....distracting. For the...

You made the best choice. The old RCBS Pro's are the best of the bottom pours, bar none--IMHO. Mine just keeps on melting boolits. To find one bnib is a great score.
