Deputy Dog, repeat after me; " I will not sell nor trade my 788 30/30 no matter the temptation to fund another project, so help me, Galena" I sold mine (44 mag) for a profit to fund the same thing and regret it to this day. Every time I look at my...

I have not tried the bead trick but if it gives a sight picture like the JM 625 S&W guns it would be a nice addition. If you are fortunate enough to have a lot of birthdays, you will put a scope on it. Trust me on that one.

I drained and cleaned my RCBS ProMelt. Man! where does all the gunk come from, no wonder I've had some "impurities" in some boolits. Then I sized some Lee 175 gr .401 boolits after powder coating with Smokes Carolina Blue. PUUUURTY

Here's mine. A little 32 Long Hand Ejector and a 32/20 S&W to keep it company. Every time I take one to the range, everybody loves to shoot them. They don't bellow and belch flame, they just shoot where you point them.

Ditto what Tom said. I vote for a 44 Ruger Super Redhawk. If you are going to scope it at some point in time, the Super comes with rings-ready to go. Here is mine w/o the scope. Mine is a 9 1/2" gun and it is strictly a "huntin" gun but it is so...

Thanks a ton for straightening that out. I never thought that I would be the one to relay bad loading info but, trust me, it wont happen again. As far as the lighter projectiles, my friend bought some 400gr cast boolits for a 480 Ruger and...

He cannot find his data. If you could see his loading bench you could understand. He gives a new meaning to the word clutter. I called Accurate Powders and the guy I talked to said that 49grs of 5744 and a 400gr cast boolit would deliver 1750 fps in...

With Accurate #9 recommended I would think 2400 is a viable option. Never had any surprises with 2400 as long as a dash of prudence is used. I will definitely powder coat.

My son went to a gun show today and a 10mm Colt Delta Elite followed him home. I've got dies and will have brass shortly but as far as boolits I need a tip as to what NOT to cast. The 175 Lee looks like a good place to start for not a lot of $ so my...

A 13 yr old with a penchant for shooting and not a lot of money. A Lyman Vandalia solved some of that problem for a while. Heaven only knows what the pressures were on some of my loads back in 1960. No wonder my Savage shotgun was a bit "loose".

I tried that with mine and the rifle just doesn't like Elmers boolit. It wouldn't feed even in 44 spl brass. YMMV but that's my experience. There is a boolit that just might get you where you want to be and it is a Lyman 429667. Maybe someone with...

If you don't have a 240 gr Lee GC mold, spent a few $ on one and assemble 5 or 6 unloaded rounds to run through your magazine. This boolit makes a slightly shorter over all 44 mag round and it is very accurate in all the revolvers I have tried it...

22" barrel with 1-14 twist is what my 350 RM was and it never had a problem with cast and shot jacketed ok. But now it is a 358 Norma and loves 200 gr cast w/gas check at 2100 fps as well as 250 gr Nosler Partitions at 2750(ouch). I never had any...

Leading problems are usually a result of poor fit unless you are driving boolits at warp speed. Try some of SMOKE4320's powder. It is WAAAAY better than HF powder. You can buy a Cooper(brand name) thermometer pretty reasonably online and mine is...

Here is my Hand Ejector 32/20 that followed me home from a gun show. It is a joy to shoot and anybody that shoots it is surprised by the light recoil and accuracy of 5 grs of Unique and 100 gr Magnus boolits.

I sympathize with you. Hard to find reduced bazooka loads these days. I have never used 5744 but I see a lot of people loving it with cast boolits in big cases. Gotta' be a 5744 load somewhere for a 470 nitro and a "little" 400 gr boolit. I have...
