They say this 6.5WSM is a potential barrel burner, which is why I had the barrel Nitride processed, with this treatment it is possible to extend the life of a barrel many times over. In the 100 rounds or so I put down the tube before Nitride I...

Got a chance to do some shooting this week with the newly nitrided barrel. Here is what I learned or reaffirmed.... 1. Nitride (QPQ, Black Nitride, Melonite, etc.) processing reduces friction in the barrel which reduces pressure. With...

Been out of office for about a week with family visiting and working on my 6.5WSM with the 178 grain bullets a little bit. Had a few days of sun and no wind so took advantage of it while I could. The 6.5WSM is being temperamental now that the barrel...

Internal pin or external punch may be blocking hole. How hard is the lead? Pure or a mixed alloy? As long as bleed hole is not blocked the lead should flow. Using any lube? Bt

Yep, sounds a little over annealed, and don't forget most these federal cases are .7 grains heavier and make a slightly longer jacket so you may be compressing the tip of the jacket a bit causing the blemished look. It is only cosmetic and will...

The pictured bullet above made from 22 short was completely full to get to 40 grains, still has a good amount of baring surface. I am certain if one trimmed the case a little or even just used less lead in the jacket already, it would be no...

Sierra 6mm .810" jacket drawn down to 22 cal 80 and 90 grain 22 cal RBT bullet made from this jacket. The 90 grain was a bit too much lead core for this jacket so it didn't quite point up all the way. Still pretty good looking bullets. BT

That was a Hines tactical 6mm jacket drawn down. I just tried a few of the Sierra 6mm jackets that start at .810" and end up at 1.120" after draw to 22 cal, they worked perfect for 80-95 grain bullets. The 22 mag is long at 1.250" in length after...
