Pretty cool. My shooting buddy flew B52's a few lifetimes ago. One he flew is visible from I25 at the Air Force Academy. He pointed it out to me last summer on the way through.

TXGunNut replied to a thread Computer texting???? in Our Town
Sometimes I don't feel like talking and won't answer the phone; busy, whatever. I'll almost always return a text, eventually if not sooner. It's a good tool just like many other apps on a smart phone. Someday maybe I'll be smart enough to use more...

My apologies for continuing the hijack of your thread. To address your question there is indeed a point to using cast boolits in cartridges designed for J-words. First of all you'll be using a boolit YOU made and there's nothing like the feeling of...

Thanks, Larry. I don't understand all you (and others) are doing on this threshold project but I have a basic understanding of physics. And I agree, you didn't invent the threshold or whatever folks choose to call it. The laws of physics have been...

Thanks for validating my new plan. I'm thinking I'll soften the alloy to 50/50 plus a touch of tin; how do you feel about that?

#4 buck sounds like a great way to ruin a coyote's day. I like your pellet prep method, should yield a big improvement in patterns. I don't think it takes a lot of penetration to flatten a coyote, what do you feel is an effective range for your load?

With apologies to Larry I'd like to say I think the 3b definition cited above fits Larry's observations. I think the mistake we make is that we want to know if a boolit at X velocity with a twist rate of C is exceeding the RPM threshold. As I...

Thanks for the clarification, Larry. I have to dumb many things down so that I can understand them. I call these things you (and others) do with alloy, design, pressures and even tighter quality control "variables" because they affect where this...

One thing that bothers me about this "threshold" debate is that this "threshold" is a matter of physics; the study of physics is governed by laws and these laws don't change. It's very real, whether we understand it or not. We can't move this...

In some cases a large boar is a very smelly and the meat inedible, at least to me. I had a very large boar processed into spicy breakfast sausage years ago (before I started doing my own processing) and wound up throwing most of it away. I think the...

Probably a bit long as well but I only shoot balls in my C&B revolvers. A boolit this long would leave little room for powder.

Sounds like you have this pretty well figured out, OP. It's been my experience that the big old school single/double moulds like to be ladle poured. May be the pour rate, may be pressure pouring. I don't know. Some moulds need to be scrubbed, heat...

TXGunNut replied to a thread Rocky Raab? in Cast Boolits
Awhile back Rocky posted something here about retiring and offered access to some of his articles before they became unavailable. Nothing on the 'net every truly vanishes but his offer was very gracious. I'm hoping his retirement is everything he...

Naw....keep the .22 and add the CF levergun later. I would never diss someone who gave me a present like that by selling or trading it. Can't have too many leverguns. Simply IMPOSSIBLE!

Go ahead and find the cases NOW! They did a run on them several months ago and I suspect that when those are gone it will be awhile before they do another run. May already be too late.
