I've used 165gr cast with 4gr 231/hp38 for a 'target' load. Should be well over minor PF but easy to handle in XDm 40, very accurate and goes end-to-end through a pig. No spring change either. My grandson was shooting it a couple years ago (~12...

All my ARs have adjustable blocks so I can set them right. My 10" pistol with pistol port gas I use standard carbine buffer, BCG, spring but cut off 3 coils to get the BCG to LSLB. Basically buffer tube is shorter than carbine. Shot some factory...

These were green coated hitek, 2 coats, recovered from a rock pile. ~950 fps. The whitish area is the remaining coating. I've got the gold powder which like the red copper has metallic particles in it. your pic above looks better but still...

Looks like the coating is pretty dry on a couple coats. Has that gritty look which may come off when firing. Did you size after the last coat? That bore part of the coating should show wear, not loss of coating from chipping. 45 is low pressure,...

Had that problem years ago when I could play tennis. Was working for a 2 star who's daughter was a pro. He gave me a pressure band with the air pad in it. Problem solved. My body tells me when to take a break now.

I have Lee sizers 308,09,10,11,12 from the factory. Beagle ( strip of tape on the mould edges, then size down - will eliminate most of the BT - but the nose might be too large. Don't have that mould but this has worked well for OPs.

That's telling you that the base of the bullet sealed but the load didn't have enough pressure to fully expand the entire drive body of the bullet. I have the same problem with 30/30, tight bore at neck and loose down the bore. Did you mike the...

It's not the gas cutting, it's the lack of abrasion on the bore part of the recovered boolits. Too small & hard, side never touches the bore and effectively the same as rifling too shallow. I've recovered a few and looked at lots of pics.

I use the Lee set to load 30/30 PCd, no problem. Don't understand your exact question. I FL size, no plug - decap with universal decapper, expand with Lymaor NOE expander. Make sure the mouth is slightly flared. Seat with the Lee seater and FCD...

I use an XDs9, with isocore now. Good capture job. Coating looks a tad thick, center circle in pic is normal, the other circled aren't. IMHO they are too small as the H.T. isn't burnished in the bore part but scraped away in the groove. ...

Center bull is from 30/30 RD GC design without GC, HiTek coated, ACCOWW. Yes it can work @ 50 yds. I suspect the T.B. is too fast. WST works in my 9 S.C. but they are PB.

I'm still trying to figure out how I can get a 30/30 neck sizing (Lee) insert into the Lee FCD. Then i can throat size for the BO & 30/30. Inset loaded ammo from the top and size the bore-rider part.

Ioon44 - probably need to increase the temp to 850 or so and let it sit for a while. That much Cu does take more heat. Once it is diluted it casts well. I've cast with 2% @ 730, no problem.

The pressures for both sure look friendly as well. For some loads, pressures of blk are lower for many loads.
