Wouldn't pass a NRA class now - finger on the trigger before sighting. 45cal tracers, neat.

I have a tight custom barrel carbine but the others are very loose. Mostly shoot cast. I use the RCBS neck tool.

50/50 mix of hydrogen peroxide and white vinegar Very hard on steel but not SS. If I can see it in the bore, I clean it out. White paper and light held in the ejection port and look down muzzle. Normal bore solvent on a patch will remove minor...

Close range is doable, it was a 50 yd personal gun. Back in the 50's when carbine was popular and cheap, lots of use for hunting. Biggest problem I heard of was the mag falling out.

Primary difference in them is placement of cannular/crimp groove. They will work fine. One is for 308MX and other is 30/30. Both heavy jacket hunting bullets. Different neck length, same bullet. May have to seat deep due to ogive. Give it a try....

I shot hog carcass with 30/30 FN soft alloy. Shoulder didn't exit, gut did and left 45 hole. Got another with 40sw @ 25 yds, 'tx heart shot' entered rear, out the jaw and broke front leg. It was 165gr TC WW with Cu. Never found the bullet. I use...

Neck SPEC is 334 BUT chambers are all over the place. Cut down brass the case wall is now the neck and could easily be thicker as well as non-uniform. Mic the neck of a fired case from your gun and that is max! Seat your bullet and measure OD of...

Cookie, you can flare the GC with a NOE tool, ball bearing, etc and that does work, but extra work. You can use VHT (exaust manifold paint) on the mould shank to make it smaller - it will eventually wear off. Spray in a puddle on paper, brush on the...

Agree it is something reloaders need to consider. If it moves when nose hard push against the table top it doesn't get fired.

150is FP of some sort and learn to aim. You don't have 15-19 rnds. Watch some utube of close encounters of the bad kind. If in the open spaces, learn to run fast.

The lake I will use this on is at +54,000 ft Low orbit? Maybe 5400'? I'd go decent elec., deep cycle batts. (optima) fairly light weight. Can always make a run to shore and walk back to cabin with rain gear. Wind on long skinny lakes almost always...

In SA pistols, proven that factory ammo, setback is from chambering the same rnd many times. In revolvers, bullet moves forward. Interesting test and I can say PC increases push required IF neck tension is proper.

I use hornady GCs in my 30 cal. Not a problem and I do PC most. it helps. There was a discussion here about GC coming off - non suppressed. A lot depended on alloy. Higher Sb and little tin seemed to be worst. Lino lost them, #2 didn't. I make an...
