Not copper, probably zincite (oxide). Jackets can turn black from heat, just oxide.

This week I shot 145gr PB from the marlin with 17.5 gr Rx7, did fine. The 170gr PB didn't do quite as well but still minute of BIG deer. 185gr GC with 18gr did good last time out, soft alloy though. 50 yds as I'm not yet up to a couple 100yd...

Depends on lube and weather as well as barrel condition. PC doesn't make much difference and most of use (apparently) don't clean our rifles after shooting PC. Haven't seen a first shot flyer either. No 'sighters' unless it's long or windy.

The soot in the neck is sort of a lube. Assume you have proper neck tension, it's OK. They will squeak even dirty if the neck ID is too small. And probably scrape PC that you don't see as it is in the L.G.

I did ESPC, now just shake & bake. I get same results on target from both. S&B is just less trouble. Near MOA @ 200 with 308 & same with BO PB, both fast loads.

First problem, it's a club range - with dues. You pay dues, get to do what you want. You want to shoot your mag rifle @500, prove you can handle 100,200, etc. You want to shoot pistol @ 100, prove you are capable. Otherwise you get the mall...

watch you shoot a few times to make sure that you were safe. Pretty much the reason pistol ranges are kept close. Don't have manpower to qualify at distance. Rifle ranges are the same here, qual at shorter range before allowing long range.

Long time ago there was an article from a bear hunter on the Wa peninsula ( state appointed guy) used a 44mag IIRC. Brush was too dense to carry a rifle. Very successful. I owuldn't count on a 22lr to do the job like the fishing guide in Ak did -...

4 major conflicts and 4 major plagues, they counted in the statistics? Gain of 10 from the 50s. You could drive on a date, pay for chow and still have change from 5$.

We are both on edge and nervous. Prayers for calm. Meds and docs will do what they can. Positive attitude is easy to say but the best medicine. I think half my friends are going through treatments now, kinda wears me down.

The people didn't live as long is bogus. Avg lifespan maybe a couple years different then. You worked hard and safe as if injured, out of luck. You inherited the family home/farm or payed rent. Houses were not cheap then, 1000 sq ft was a large...

Being neither Catholic or Aussie, my 2 cents doesn't mean much. Aussie land has suffered the same fate as the US, very liberal and declining church participation (10%). 20 yrs after the 'fact' and reprimand for 'drinking Communion wine'? One...

Gas, sugar, tires, nylons, housing all rationed. String and Al foil balls you trade in for ratio cards. Mom stitched up the holes in the knees of the jeans - it was NOT a badge of wealth then. She made your clothes and often hers. You had an...

Christianity has been watered down a lot both here and abroad. There has been a lot of discussion about preacher sermons about lbgtq and gov. interferences but in 50 yrs of baptist sermons never heard a one.
