I shot an AK clone once, scope kept falling off and dinged me once. I don't see any advantage in x39 but if it works for you, go for it. Well, at least you don't have to convert cases. My BO carbine barrel is 18" and that is fine.

LLA will work but is more trouble actually. Alloy needs to be harder and fit is more important. LLA works with GC bases OK but that is extra cost. Even with subs you're in the 30-40K psi range. PC is cheap, easy and works. There are a few tricks...

I'd try the 401 & 402, you can open them up as needed. Alloy hardness will change sized dia.

It is not a toy, fine for close hunting and SD. I've been playing with cfe pistol and 110 to 175 gr cast with reasonable results.

Do the plunk test. If case head is flush with the hood, OK. Check OAL on ones that don't. Run loaded down all the way in the seater/crimped die ( pull the stem up) on ones that aren't flush. They will chamber and shoot but may lead.

Shaking is more like tossing a salad (I tend to use that motion anyway). Swirling creates the static but alone is like just spinning the bowl around the 'mass' of powder & boolits that don't move. Shaking also lifts powder off the bottom of the...

My 10" works fine even for fast supers. Might want to look at one of the blade type tubes, easier to shoot. You probably need ACWW for alloy. I run a 185gr GC with soft but the 145 & 175 PB use H.T.d alloy (1400 -2100 fps). I PC and have no...

I've seen both, they are different than what we expect from a movie. Goes slow for a while but then sometimes life does too. Shows sometimes you got to hit bottom before you rise to the top.

scoped Marlin 30-30 will barely lob a bullet 200 yards. No, just the RN or FP with BC of 0.2 has a 2ft drop @ 300 ft. and energy @200 is 1k ft-lb, sometimes the legal limit for rifle hunting. LeverE works for me using 170 & 185gr cast RD style...

It's just marketing! reloading stuff is for the 'newcomer' or causal shopper. Why is the candy/battery/sunglass rack next to the checkout? Except during Obama years, they don't expect to make a lot of gun sales. As much of their stuff is 'white...

still the best mold for target 180 was for 10mm, 40sw best performer is 165. My first casting was with the Lee 401s, one is worn out the other doesn't get used (old style). Use an Accurate 165 TC FB now, feeds and shoots great thru PX4, XDM and...

LeverE and ftx will get you to 200 for hunting, coreloc barely. 300 is a fun idea.

I get itred of the 9 getting mixed with my 40. Or the 40 getting mixed with the BO. Or any 22 in the mix, especially for bottle neck brass.

Any reason for x39 vs 40WT, BO or 30-223? Longer barrel adds weight. Have you looked at KAK? I use adjustable GB on all my ARs, once set they stay there BUT I can change them. Carbine gas is the way to go for supers.
