Long story short for loads for garand NOT really that special. Max bullet weight, 173s(the old special ball bullet) NO 180s or heavier. Heavy bullet loads like to bend op rods. Good load published for DCM/CMP loads for their Garands: 47 gr IMR...

ONe thing we learned on State Service rifle team in early days of shooting the AR-15s: Shooting 25.5 gr 748 under 69 Sierras. Accurate, BUT: 748 powder fouls the carrier group. You need to de-carbon it frequently We turned to Varget--24.6 gr...

First, Question: are you referring to breech Seating as in seating a bullet ahead of the case into the bore and then loading a case with powder behind it? beltfed/arnie

OH, I do need to note that for years, I have loaded only BP loads in my TD. They do Very well with BP. And easy wiping between shots as I earlier noted, with my flex jag adaptor and delrin wiping rod beltfed/arnie

AggiePharmD, YOu will not need the case expander once you get your cases fireformed. I have shot my TD for years with Fire Formed cases, and just finger seat the bullets. You start with loading your primed cases with appropriate powder and an...

AggiePharmD Here is a system that I make to more easily wipe a TD from the breech as well as to clean it. Sure beats "blowing your brains out" with a blow tube. beltfed/arnie

When I shot the Permagel I had placed it at 50 yards as I hunt the same stand year after year and the deer usually come through at that distance or close too it. Expansion was great. I am fearful that penetration was more of an issue, especially if...

Of note: Colt made its modern revolvers-Python, Det spl, etc with 0.355" groove dia. The guns functioned and were very accurate with the plethoria of 0.358 diameter 357 mag and 38 spl ammo out there. No one worried about it. beltfed/arnie

Winchester would have been wiser to re-introduce the 38-55 Ballard and/or the 375 win in their m 94 lineup. Likewise Marlin 336s in hunting carbines/rifles other than their 336CB Of course these are not suitable for bolt rifles and ARs....

cwlongshot. The problem of hot "Milek" loads in the 357 Herrett occurred with Hornady JSP and JHP bullets loaded in my friends and others' T/Cs. I believe the powder was "a lot of" IMR 4227. Not half jacketed Speers, tho I would NOT use them...

Yes, indeed, good point about patches blowing out of open tubs. The wet ones do not blow out, but yes, dry ones can. I drop a towel over them if windy. BUT, will look for some hinged ones, Kurt. Good Idea beltfed/arnie

one THING about the 357 ar, 357Maxi and now this WW reinvention: A possible ISSUE in the use of 357 mag JSP Pistol bullets in these calibers: These pistol bullets, when shot over heavy charges and to High velocities, can leave a Jacket in the...

6.5 Grendel would be an accurate Verminator, although I am far from pleased with it on medium game. I would also look at the 22 Nosler for vermin.
