If your going to use the BLC-2 with that bullet then I'd suggest a dacron filler. Most often BLC-2 doesn't burn efficiently with the lighter loads needed to keep that 170 gr cast bullet under 1950 fps for good accuracy. The dacron filler helps it...

"Ran speeds from 1400fps to 2400fps, with and without gas checks and just terrible." Pray tell what loads? What GCs? What lube" That bullet should do very nicely in the M94 at 1400 - 2000 fps and even down to 800 fps.

Almost all 9mm carbines are blow back operated and are made to function with standard 9mm pistol loads including +P with their attendant time/pressure curves. If one does come up with a "rifle load" (presuming that to mean some sort of slower...

Yup dump it! I always worry a lot of this. I got a 4# bottle of 296 years and years ago. I was very happy as I used a lot of that in 410 and 357 mag loads. Took a few months before I used all my current bottle and opened the “new” one. ...

Powder coating your cast will remove MUCH of the hardness worries. I cast most HG stuff to 8-12 BHN and Rifle 12-18 BHN. Huge asset with powder is no hand guns “need” gas checks to detour leading anymore. They are still a improvement to the...

I sprayed all of mine with Moly lube. Takes care of them sticking. One more thing you can check is to make sure your lead is up to the right temp. If the lead is on the colder side of what is needed the bullets can stick from that too.

I set the barrel back on my M98 Rhineland so it buts up against the internal barrel stop (Kuhnhausen calls it an "internal barrel torque shoulder") as a Mauser is supposed to and then tightened the barrel nut. That set the barrel back 0.125. I...

Seems to be a problem since about 2000. I have run across numerous such cases that fit as described or won't fit at all in Lee and RCBS shell holders. Seems manufacturing tolerances on the extractor groove have slipped a bit.

If you have Lee's Liquid Alox that will work just fine. just put a very light coat on the (as per Lee's directions) and let thoroughly dry before loading. No need to size again. 45-45-10 is usually a home made concoction, although it is...

Still working but have managed to rebuild the Farmall engine, tune up the post pounder, buy 3k feet of goat fence and getting ready to build fence. Total replacement of old fence. Not my favorite thing to do.
