An extreme test for this is to put a bit of lube (a chunk the size of a boolit) on a paper towel, then set it on the dash of a closed up car on a sunny day. Look and feel if any oil migrates to the towel.

I'd won a pair of new cast iron skillets last year. Both were rough on the inside. I took one to the shop to smooth it out, left the other one rough. I used them equally, and the rough one seasoned much better and faster than the smooth one.

T-Bird, if you have some spare Bourbon or Scotch or Vodka, it will do as well but it would be a waste. Aqualube does not taste any good at all...lol:kidding::oops:

If I were making a boolit lube to fit your parameters "I like that it is an easy formula to make, just a few common ingredients and relatively quick to make". I'd use 357Maximum's recipe for 666+1, AKA: Satan's lube. But it does get soft in high...

I hope you don't get discouraged easily. When I first started casting, before I ordered a Lee bottom pour pot, I tried to cast a few with a Lee ladle and a old used 45 cal 2 cavity Lee mold. I didn't have any success, but I was doing this while...

Tazza, I used to work shift work, 12 hour days, 6 days on day shift, 6am to 6pm, , then 3 days off, the 6 days night shift 6pm to 6 am. It really was not worth the money, and damage to health and family relationships, no week ends, not going out,...

You would have problems with the revolver in this area. Only one chamber at a time is permitted to be loaded at a time, due to a stupid accident by a pilgrim a few years ago. Managed to shoot himself putting the gun in a shoulder holster.

I was asked a question a year ago, and have researched it ever since. Apparently it doesn't exist, but thought I would ask here. Has anyone ever heard of "leftover bacon"?

igolfat8 Aqualube 5000 and Aqualube 3000 are not soap based products. The products are a water based Polymeric Emulsions. It does contain materials that will cause foam, and that is why it is an emulsion. This foam instantly collapses when you...

You'll like that one, I have cast thousands of boolits with my 5 cavity RCBS clone mold...mine come out a bit heavy using 94-3-3 alloy, and weigh about 60gr with GC installed.

JonB_in_Glencoe replied to a thread Hubris in Cast Boolits
I suspect the issue could be that the RCBS boolit fits your Rifle's throat better than your NOE copy. You may or may not get the NOE to shoot as good as the RCBS in your rifle. Boolit molds can have slight variance from mold to mold, even from...
