While COW is used many, like waksupi and myself have had problems with it, especially in bottle neck cases. Some years back I did a pressure test for some members here of the 45-70, a relatively straight walled case, using COW as a filler. I found...

I load 5.5 Unique for a pair of 1917s with the NOE version of the 454424 and 452-200 RNFP Lee . The RBH likes it too . Even a high point carbine likes them . I'm almost out of the 12# keg of 1968 then I'll have to start all over with 2 cans...

Mark me down . If I'm casting for best bullets I have no issue with a good single but I do find them tedious if I need very many of a particular bullet like a 454424 for example no point running a Lyman single when 4 rifles and 3 pistols don't...

I talked to a fabrication shop and got some 22" hrs steel cutouts . Nice 3/4 " circle . Then I stuck them in a worn 20" tire from a tire shop junk pile and bolted it through the sidewall just above the bead shoulder . I added a plywood facer and...

Outpost75 is correct. The noise level produced via muzzle blast is all about the volume of gas produced and the pressure/velocity of the gas at muzzle exit. The lower amount of the faster burning Bullseye will produce a less volume of gas and have...

Probably to both questions. If you are shooting from a bench with the rifle in a consistent stable position and are single loading each cartridge in a consistent manner you my not see an improvement in accuracy using a Dacron filler. The reason...

The 6.8 is the 25,30&32 Rem shortened . The head shares the 30-30,32 WS dimensions but is rimless . The 22 Nosler is the 6.8 case with a rebated rim reduced to the shared 223 rim diameter . There's a 35/38/9mm produced on the 6.8 case . It is...

The old Lyman slip GCs, current commercial slip on aluminum or home made ones w/o the crimp flare work best. After cooling the GC flicks off and can be reused. With these lightly loaded WCs there's really no reason to shoot the GC. If using a GC...

NMLRA Guy I suggest 2.7 gr Bullseye in the 32 H&R Magnum under a 90 - 115 gr cast bullet. The SR primers should fit w/o problems.....at least they fit in Starline and Federal cases. In the 44 magnum the LR primers may be too tall as...

..............I use the Berry's 612 Ultra for my 45-90's, which look somewhat dwarfed in there :-) The cells are .640" square, while the internal height is 3.75" tall. They also make boxes that will hold the 577-450 and .577 Snider base down. I...

Yes there were some cases with thicker rims than others some years back.....maybe quite a few years back. RCBS, back in the day, made 2 different shell holders for the 9mm; #16 being the standard and #16 N for the others.

The propriety carbide sizer in my Dillon SDB sizes the cases just fine as does the Lee 2 ring carbide sizer (not the FCD). I also suggest not "tossing" the FCD as it may come in handy. Years ago I shot thousand of 356402s and 356242s cast of COWWs...

The results of that report are correct IF one is using a quality commercial bullet that is balanced and that has a strong enough jacket to hold up to the high RPMs. Another caveat is the shorter bullets at Higher RPM are not as accurate at longer...
