That little flap of displaced metal you are so concerned about is nothing but a burr from the original manufacturing of the press. It appears that RCBS drilled and reamed the link and the reamer left that thin burr when it exited the hole. I...

Grind your 6.5 expander to a taper so it will start in the smaller case mouth. Then polish it or buy the overpriced item made by Redding. You would be better off to start with .250 Savage but they are harder to find.

Measure your case "neck" diameter when you pull them out of your FL die and let me know. I can plug gage 3 or 4 FL dies with my pin gages and let you know what they are.

A huge heavy press is not needed for pistol ammo. The longer stroke of the press handle can be a disadvantage. The same goes for the 5.56. For larger rifle cases a bigger heavy duty press is nice and the longer stroke of the mechanical linkage is...

EDG replied to a thread Primer Shortage? in Our Town
Currently the ammo companies can make more money selling ammo than primers so they keep all their primer production for ammunition.

Check your facts since you were not on Iwo Jima or some of those other islands with diesel Shermans. The fact is there were 3 or 4 versions of the Sherman equipped with diesel engines and I have never heard of the Army using them.

EDG replied to a thread Diesel question in Our Town
In WWII the US Army ran gasoline in their Sheman tanks used in Europe to simplify logistics. The USMC in the Pacific used tanks with diesel engines because the US Navy used diesel in the smaller landing craft,

Many companies play that waranty/guarantee game with items that cannot be repaired. Their cost to manufacture a new item (cost of goods sold) is usually about 1/2 to 1/4 the MSRP or the catalog price. When you pay them 1/2 the catalog price they...

Annealing is pretty easy to learn. If you have any junk cases or any berdan brass you can practice without risking damage yo your shooting brass.

I have about 1000 45-70 cases and about 1000 more formed into 40-65 Win. These cases are mostly WW and RP with about 100 Federal thrown in. Of my 45-70 cases one old box of WW brass dates back to 1972. This box of brass has been fired about 30...

The fine finish in the die will work fine as long as you use as good lube on the cases. The lube provides a lubricant film barrier in the die just like bullet lube provides a lube barrier in your barrel. A company that manufactured gas springs...

You need to polish the die some more. A lathe or drill motor spinning the case about 250 RPM will permit polishing longitudinal scratches across the scratch. This will get rid of the scratching.

The San Francisco people saw the heated jackets as skiing jackets with connections to charge your cell phone and to give a lap top a bit of a power boost. Pelosi's crowd would never connect them to work.
