Thickness of the case head may or may not be significant. What is important is the STRENGTH of the case head. The ability of the case head to withstand high pressure is dependent on the hardness of the brass too. It has demonstrated by Bob Hagle...

Brass is elastic so it has some springback when fired. That is what enables it to be easily extracted. Quote Then I noticed that my cast dimensions were all about a thou greater in diameter than the fired cases and I haven't felt a need to do...

I just bumped into this new press on the net. I no longer take any magazines so I have not seen any announcements but I am curious why it would have an MSRP significantly higher than a Rockchucker.

You maybe jumping to an erroneous conclusion. Assuming the brass caused he blow up without any other proof may be a mistake. The 25-06, having such a large case for a small bore, is inherently susceptable to pressure excursons if you make a...

EDG replied to a thread ISE Hates plumbing in Our Town
No I don't think you understand. The last water leak I had a plumber quoted me $2000 because my water heater no longer met the local codes and it would have to be replaced. That was even though the WH was NOT the cause of the leak. So I called...

For me the RCBS and Mos tools are nearly worthless since they are not made in most of the calibers I reload. For example with a .243 you can buy a RCBS tool that is only intended for the .243. The Hornady tool can check almost any bottle necked...

EDG replied to a thread Is PayPal any good? in Our Town
I began using Paypal as soon as it came out about 1998 or so. Back then I could buy brass and bullets on ebay. I have sold mostly gun related items and I have never had a problem with crooks. Ebay sellers sometimes play dumb or delibratly try to...

If it uses a common refrigerant like 134a you can buy a line tap and check the high side pressure to see if it is low. I added 134a to one and got it to run another 2 years before it cratered for good.

I suggest you try the Hornady case gage that fastens to a dial caliper. It works with many different cartridges and is very quick and convenient. Because of its flexibility you can use it on cartridges for which there is no dedicated RCBS gauge.

There are a lot of factors that affect accuracy. It can be difficult to determine just how much difference a set of dies will make without changing anything else. I once had a set of dies that produced handloads with a lot of run out. The seater...

This is excellent information to hear. I have a number of older Lee rifle dies that I would like to upgrade to the newest decapping rod design. I have never liked the blunt end decapping rod design since it does not play well with mashed case...
