I have a hay fever allergy. When I start sneezing in Sept I turn on a HEPA filter. After the first hard frost it is usually not needed. I do not perform dust generating operations in doors so I only run the filter during hay fever season.

I have had 5 of the Lee Zero Error loaders. The first one I bought new in 1975 to correct the necks of a large lot of Norma .243 brass. While this brass was boxed in boxes that said "Match" it was pretty crummy due to the case necks being thick...

EDG replied to a thread Biscuits and gravy in Cookin' Recipe's
My grand mother made the best biscuits from scratch. I have 2 brothers. The last 2 or 3 biscuits always resulted in conflict at the table. It was easy to get a fork in the back of your hand when you reached for the last few biscuits. My...

EDG replied to a thread Bacon Consistency in Cookin' Recipe's
I can get Wright bacon on sale and get a lb of Jimmy Dean sausage with it free so I buy a lot at one time. I also buy Bacon Up which is 14 oz of factory prepared and filtered bacon grease. I can use it to make gravy without making bacon.

You can get that by cutting off the back end of a Lee-Enfield barrel and extending the thread to create a shorter chamber out of the front end of the chamber.

Heat treating before and during manufacturing processes is done to make the manufacturing processes faster, more precise and more reliable. Not for any direct accuracy benefits. I discussed cyro treating of barrels with a coworker who was a...

It will add an extra step but you need an intermediate sizing (or trim/form) die. Use a .30 Luger or .30 Mauser (7.62 Tokarev) FL die with an open top design like RCBS. Remove the decapping stem and let the long neck extend out of the top of the...

The original RCBS trimmer had a pull collet system as you described it. The pull collet stops based on how tight you turn the Tee handle (same as the draw bar on a lathe collet) and the diamter of the case head. A smaller case head will allow the...

I doubt that the frame and slide have any special heat treat. If those parts are heat treated after machining they would warp. To satisfy your own curiosity just put enough parts back into one to get it to fire. That would be the recoil spring,...

By integrating the decapping function into the expander die the die companies were able to omit 3 parts 1. Decapping rod 2. Decapping rod lock nut 3. Decapping rod bushing Omission of those parts reduced the cost of the die set and put more...

EDG replied to a thread 350 rem form die in Factory Rifles
Nosler lists .350 Mag. though they are currently out of stock. I use RCBS FL dies MOSTLY though I do have other brands. I have many sets and I have no chambers that require a small base die. I have formed a few .350 Mag cases with a RCBS FL...

There was a guy in East Texas (I think) who was found dead in his golf cart or ATV. His Contender apparently was dropped out of the vehicle, hit the ground and killed him. He was making a run from his house to the mail box.

I much prefer and use the Forster for most of my trimming. I have a full set of pilots and collets and it will trim all of the 35 or so cartridges I load except the 50-70 Govt. In addition it will also turn case necks. It is easy to remove the...

That reminds me of the Jack O'Connor story of the video of an old geezer shooting a very large bore double rifle. At the shot his hat, glasses and false teeth all flew off.
