I am reminded of a loud mouth R. Lee Ermy type retired Marine on another site. He was always running his big mouth until details of his service surfaced. The big blow hard served in the USMC long enough to retire but never served in a combat unit...

Some of these experts have a hard time coping with the practical aspect of hitting a 24" square at one mile. Your rifle does not have to group into 2 minutes. Not even close. So says a text book on statistics. Take enough ammo and you will...

If you don't like the primers just decap the cases carefully. Remove the crimp and reprime with non-corrosive primers and go on your way. I have decapped hundreds of live corrosive 30-06 primers. A very slow push distorts the primer and pushes it...

Check the Lyman Cast Bullet handbook for data for the 7X57. The older 44 and 45 loading manuals also had cast bullet data. Your .285 diameter bullets probably need to be .288 or .289 to work in that barrel.

Most crankshaft grinding shops will not do a very good job of deburring the oil holes in the main and rod bearing journals. I like to use a Cratex bob on a Dremel arbor to deburr the crank shaft oil holes.

You are a bit mistaken. The original Winchester rifle manufacturing company no longer exists. One of the reasons it no longer exists is it was a poor investment of money. The management of the plant and those old unions would not do the job....

You might try swaging a 7.62 case to .35 Rem before you think it is a good alternative. You can like it all you want until you find it does not work as well as you think.

Remington Slide? a slide what? The 3 rem cases are .25 Rem., .30 Rem., and 32 Rem that all use the same head diameter. The .38-55 case can be formed like a basic case to each of the 3 Rem cases above. I would not buy the .38-55 brass when the...

EDG replied to a thread I.M.R 3031 powder in Single Shot Guns
It depends on the velocity you intend to shoot. If you want traditional BP velocity use less of a faster powder. The best choices run from Alliant 2400, IMR 4227, Accurate 5744 and IMR 4198. I use about 25 grains of SR4759 for excellent...

Zeroing an 0-1 mike is setting it to a known standard and that standard is ZERO length. That is perfectly adequate for a handloader with a decent mike that shows no apparent error end to end. The usual handloader with one ordinary 0-1 mike does...

You might really be peeved to know that you do not need a standard to properly set up most 0-1 mikes. Think about it a minute. The zero setting of the mike is set by running the spindle out to touch the anvil. Of course you can go OCD and check...
