Update.... Steve called a while ago. His parents are home, a bit stiff and sore, but safe and uninjured. He'll call me tomorrow with another update, and I'll send it on. Thanks!

I have a friend that I worked and hung out with when I lived in N.Y. His Parents moved to Florida, and a few years ago so did he. His dad is 93 and mom is 90. Today they were on their way to N.Y. for their summer,to spend time with other family...

It sure is prettier.... I have some, mostly for my 30-06 A.I., and find some for the 9 mm, but in my confused opinion it doesn't last quite as long as plain brass. I know it doesn't in pistol and revolver ammunition. At least that's been my...

It's something I wouldn't mind having... I'm trying to teach my wife about cast iron. She has some Japanese cast that works well, especially when she bakes cornbread, and they are light weight. She can't seem to understand that the cast needs to...

I agree about the Mil Spec Springfield. I have had many years now and it still makes me smile when I shoot it. Other folks who have shot it have offered to buy it from me - no lie. They are great guns. I just broke mine down yesterday and scrubbed...

I thought the NASA study was about a bumble bee.... As for patched RB in a muzzleloader, if you look at the base of a Maxi-ball after it is fired and the backside of a rb, you'll see little burn marks in the MB, and may find weave marks in a rb...

As I stated before, and have most of the rest, I'd never had it happen before, but it did that day. Let me also state that after my chemotherapy my fingers are pretty numb, tingly feeling like my hand is asleep. I believe that is a leading factor as...

Tom W. replied to a thread Dead rabbit in Our Town
One New Years Day I was hunting with a friend, and the weather was cold and drizzly. I stumbled upon a rabbit in a den. It didn't even jump, just stretched out, got really stiff and died. The guy I was hunting with said it was a "haint", and as he...

The only time I have ever heard of this is when a primer gets pierced and the escaping gases re-cock the hammer and it acts like a semi auto.

I had it happen once when I had my S&W model 19-4. Prior to that I never thought it was possible with a revolver. Surprise!.......

Single Six was the first handgun I ever shot as well. A tender 6 years old and I was hooked. Bleach bottles on the hill bank with my uncle. HOOKED I tell ya!! Then went on to shoot my brother's new .410 my Dad got him for his birthday. He was 11,...

I shoot multiple .32 caliber bullets in both my 30s and 31s. Most recently I was shooting some Clone 3118s in my Enfield. Pistol bullets do great in the old war guns. Nice plinkers - easy on lead and powder.

I just saw another nice Ohaus 10-10, in box with dust cover, looked pristine, sell for $45 + ship. It was on one of those buy/sell/trade groups on facebook. There are some really smokin' deals in some of those groups.

Years ago I bought my boys a Daisy .22 rimfire s/s. The buttstock is adjustable for LOP and it was scary accurate. I believe all of the boys possessed it at one time or another, handing it down as they got something different. The thing looks like a...

The punch thing didn't do so well, so I pushed the pins in as deeply as they would go and filled the holes with J-B Weld. So far it's working.

What he said^^^^^ It's a common thing, at least for me, for the LLA to build up in the seating die nose. The LLA needs to be really thin, almost looking like it's not on the boolit. My Ranch Dog mold suggests dipping the boolit, leaving the nose...

The 45 is made from cast iron. The 450 has steel linkage and handles. The 45 will snap a handle or break off a bolt flange before the 450 would. But not if you size them in a Lee push thru first, it takes all the stress out of lubing. I very...

The RCBS is the toughest, in my opinion. They all lube the same, using the same dies, but the 45 isn't for heavy work, and the 450 just doesn't have the leverage and linkage to take the abuse like a LAM does, again IMHO. Which is better? It...
