You won’t likely get function of the action with #2400. It’s the amount of barrel you have beyond the gas port that is affecting the cycling. I used AA#1680, H4198, RL7, and H322 when I was loading for the 7.63x39.

The roughest will be disassembled refinished and rebarreled with a Criterion barrel, and new Boyd’s stock. Essential a new Garand. They call them CMP “Specials”. I’ve got a 1.9 mil Springfield CMP “Special” that shoots under 2moa. Was just...

I’ve used 90gr SWC, 93gr RN, 100gr RN, 113gr FNGC, and 120gr RNGC. The non-GC bullets are powder coated. All have shot equal or better than jacketed bullets which tend to be undersized. My favorite cast bullet powder is #2400. Acc#9 closely...

Most likely in a recylindered S&W revolver. The case length of “jack rabbit” is very close to that of .38spl.

A chamber cast is imperative. I think you’re going to find Rifle has been rebored to .38/55. The factory .30/30 will shrink after initial firing, appearing to be a 9.3. Slugging the bore with a 3/8” lead ball will confirm actual bore diameter. ...

Yep, BTDT! Same caveat when forming .300BO FROM 5.56x45. You should also neck-turn your .222/.223 and anneal them. Worked great in my CZ552 .222 until my order of 100 PPU .222 came in the mail from Grafs. Not worth the trouble considering how...

I recently discovered why my recently aquired Mosin-Nagant shot basketball groups at 100yds. The bore mikes .3115” x .3119”, so call it a .312” bore. I checked some Czech 148gr FMJ that miked .308” and Russian 182gr at .3095”. I pulled the bullets...

For accuracy you must first measure our cylinder throats. Then use a lead bullet of equal or .001-.002” larger. Secondly, use a fast pistol powder. My Webley Mk2 has been shaved to accept.45acp in moon clips. It shoots surprisingly accurate...

Mine is fond of the 200gr Hornady PtSpt over 48.0gr H4895. Seat bullets out to 2.820”. Mine has a surprisingly long throat. Seating bullets out significantly improved accuracy. It shoots the 200gr RCBS .358” FNGC well loaded over 34.5gr H4895...

First of all, the inserts are for .45ACP, not .45Colt. I would use a 200gr SWC. I get really good accuracy from several platforms with it. With Acc#5, I get 900+fps from 5”bbl. Not even a max load. Closer to start load.

Where did you get the inserts? Link? I’ve only seen .22Hornet, .218Bee, .22rf, and .30/30 adapters. Outfit in Alaska makes them with up to 10”bbl. Found them! $43 plus shipping!

My favorite trick as most of my rifles wear variable power scopes, is to shoot a group aiming center with the cast bullets. Then referencing the taper point on the dual X reticle, adjust the magnification till the taper point matches the bullet...

RL26 will be far too slow for the 7mm08. You’ll get low velocities, and lots of residues/unburned powder, and spotty accuracy. IMR4350 gives impressive accuracy in the 7-08, but due to granule size/shape, velocities are slightly limited. IMR4350...

My GI M1 Carbine shoots better with either the Lee 93gr RN or 100gr RN than FMJ ball. I’m powder coating and using #2400. Running ~2,000fps. Either should work well in the 7.62x25, as well as #2400.
