Bucks in McAlester area were chasing hard a week ago. I think it is now in the tail end of rut/mostly over now. I hunted the McAlester ammunition plant hunt and there were a lot of nice bucks killed. The older 3+ year old bucks were active and...

Okay I guess the part that is confusing to me is why you have to push them out with a cleaning rod. Definitely sounds like a chamber issue. Has the rifle work correctly in the past and is just now doing this.?

It doesn't sound like split necks along the length of the case but rather a split around the circumference of the neck or case body. That would be two different issues. I consider a split neck to be a split along the case neck from work hardened...

Since we make our own .41 cal bullets that we designed for the .41 SPL it makes it easy. I agree with you that the various bullets for the .41 Mag will not expand reliably at lower velocities which is why we went ahead and began making them in house...

No, not at this time. With plentiful access to both cast and jacketed conventional HP bullets it seems superfluous to load the HBWC backward for such use. That being said there are lots of guys that do with mixed success and nothing wrong with...

My only addendum to the definition is that it is intended to be attached to a firearm. That may sound like a stupid note to make, however, when you work in a firearm lab and have to test weapons, using a device to muffle to sound is very helpful...

Starline has been about the worst brand of new brass to stick to the expander for me. As said, lightly lube and no more problems. I dump new starline in a zip lock bag and give it a couple of short blasts of hornady one-shot lube. No more sticky...

Actually the answer is Maybe. It depends on your State laws and the buyer's State laws. So long as the buyer is in a State that allows it you can ship from TX as a private person to a C&R FFL. Some States do not allow it, it must come from an FFL...

Even though some rifles will feed shorts, I wouldn't expect them to operate the action with cb shorts or CB longs. I believe they are lower power and the action would need to be operated manually to extract, eject and feed the next round.

That stands to reason 100%. But I assume it is more difficult to do that than it is to do the whole bullet. On the other hand, they sure do look **** cool coated that way.

You can indeed use just a regular gas check in place of a 1/2 jacket. Or just plain lead. For the low velocity stuff (800FPS +/-) plain lead swaged and tumbled in BLL is fine. Need to up the velocity just add a gas check. I don't drive them hard...

If you have any 30 cal Lee factory crimp die, just invert the case to the shoulder into the die and crimp hard. That should narrow/crimp the base of the neck enough to hold the buckshot without it falling into the case.
