I have a feeling the bulged out brass is from the crimp being set on the Hornady cases, and the Remington brass is longer. this would crumple parts of the case bulging it out.

I'm using AA-4100 under the varmageddon it's prettydarnclose to 2400. I'd maybe look at it for the AR's if H-110 is burning a bit dirty. under the 100-165 cast I'm using Data-9 powder. when I done the load work ups for the AR I used 4227, I...

IMPOSSIBLE you say? no sir. did you know rubber floats. did you know the lead will jam together at the base of the deflector and can be cut out in large chunks? if you can get the lead out even with large chunks of rubber in it you can separate...

I have 2 of the "Monkey Wards" models plus a very nice M91 rifle and a M1909 rifle. They are excellent shooters. The middle rifle in photo is a M91 I converted to 35 Rem. The wire wrapped around the top M91 is attached to a strain gauge on the...

Given the NOE 314299 or the Lyman 314299 cast of a good alloy with GCs and a good lube getting 2100 fps out of a longer barreled MN without leading will be easy. Getting 2100 fps with the best accuracy will be hard. It can be done though with...

Depending on powder and cast bullet used 320 fps, while seemingly a large amount, could simply be the difference between the 20" and 26" barrels. Also the load 's time/pressure curve will have a greater influence in the longer barrel. There is/was...

The larger the diameter of the bullet the more mass it has from the center of it's axis of rotation. Thus it has greater rotational velocity at a given rate of spin (RPM) than does a smaller diameter bullet at the same rate of spin (RPM). Only a...

Depends what JES uses for a reamer. From what I have read elsewhere on the site here about .35/.30-30 most people are using CH4D dies with good results. I got Redding dies custom dimensioned for my brass, bullets and chamber, but they cost nearly...

well those dead soft Hornady swaged target 38's contain 5% antimony. I'd bet your roll was an order they made for jacket cores. you'll see lots of range scrap stuff for sale it generally has a BHN of about 10. a 10 bhn is about 2% antimony and...

lots of stuff is molded with sand and cast in. I'd cut some pipe and slip it around the shank and pack the hook in sand to form a bottom, then fill it up.

IMO. in a bolt gun it is a neat little round, that is easy to work with and is very flexible. in a semi-auto you need to do some homework on gas tube length and become limited somewhat in what you can do. I have a couple of the bolt gun versions...
