I have to look and see what I got in the shop. I bought a bunch of lube which came with a Star machine set up for .45 ACP which I got, and also the bullet sizing machine. Can't remember if it was Mirror Lube or Perfect Lube. Used both back in the...

Yes, I found the wad stack makes a way bigger difference than the powder does. Once I started using cardboard wads like the stickey above explains I got much better patterns, and it all just started to work.

My casting sessions vary widely . It's pretty easy to get into a groove with 4,5,6 cavity moulds with 60-150 gr bullets and pour 30+lbs and end up with a lot of bullets . On the other side of the road when the 45s come out with 1,2,3&6 cavity moulds...

There was a "sticky" but I cannot find it, so it must have been deleted. A condensed version which applies to your .30-30: To determine the correct cast bullet diameter for a rifle, the groove diameter of the barrel DOES NOT MATTER. INSTEAD...

Okay, that's a good bullet. Yes 16 gr of 2400 may fire form the cases, especially if a Dacron filler is used. I suggest 18 gr with the bullet seated out so it is firmly seated against the leade when the cartridge is chambered. You may also want...

If you want ACCURATE .30-30 loads over the full range of velocities possible in the .30-30, correct bullet FIT is crucial. While you could go through a succession of inexpensive mass production molds and perhaps find one by sheer accident which...

Yes they can. You could also use .32 ACP dies with the correct shell holder, backing off to compensate for the difference in case length.

I use whatever leftover homemade powder I have laying around for the shotguns. Some of it is even bigger than 1F, more like Goex Cannon grade. It all works, patterns are the same with whatever I use. Shotguns are so easy to get to work well.

If you have a Ruger Blackhawk Convertible with the .45 ACP cylinder, 9 grains of Blue Dot with a #454424 SWC gives full charge .45 Long Colt ballistics in the ACP case and a clean burn. DO NOT use this load in an M1911 as it is a frame cracker!

Probably not a lot of help . The 230 is just too much of a good thing . The little 97 gr bullet is a fun little 22LR/mag replacement . The 165 gr Ranch Dog is a nice bullet and with IMR 4350 will reach jacketed full power load levels .

I D&T'd the front 2 holes as I have a Forster jig. Shouldn't cost too much for a gunsmith to D&T the 2 holes. A jig is really need as the "receiver" is actually part of the barrel so lining up the 2 new holes vertically with the 2 rear holes is...

Or about a cast bullet in the 223 for coyote hunting? Perhaps some "caliber wars" are simply subtle suggestions (sometimes not so subtle) that what is desired may not be appropriate or the "best" choice based on numerous factors......?

Diameter will depend upon as-cast diameter, alloy, hardness and amount of springback and changes due to cellular preciptation or recrystallization in the alloy. It is normal for bullets being reduced 1% in diameter by sizing to emerge about...
